  1. He can’t swing the bat for a few minutes 4 times today?? He’s young 20s like come on
  2. DH Springer and Heineman at C on the same day is a moronic decision. Seriously its like this team doesn’t want to win sometimes.
  3. Also JBJ on the bench…. ARGGHHHH
  4. I was there man, sitting in LF. Watched Springer die right in front of me. f***ing brutal I can’t being myself to attend the playoffs this year if the make it. I’ll watch on TV
  5. Yankees have endless money when needed, its just reality. I think the Mets would outbid them though. And I don’t think Ohtani will actually leave the West coast. It’ll be Dodgers or Seattle IMO
  6. We all thought Varsho would be much better than this. There’s still definitely the possibility of him being a 100 wRC+ bat playing elite D in CF for the next few years
  7. Interesting thought. Would love to actually know what other deals were proposed/close. And how close we were on Nimmo for example. So many moving parts… there’s a scenario where we sign Nimmo and trade Kirk instead, hold onto Moreno. It just sucks that Varsho AND Kirk have been underwhelming this year which makes the trade look worse in hindsight
  8. Hmm ok I guess that kinda makes sense. Though with guys like Springer/Varsho/Teo etc they should be able to switch LF/RF on a whim. Any major league OFer should be able to switch sides easily.
  9. Front office is very weird with the LF/RF thing, and it’s always been that way. There were many times Gurriel should have been playing RF last year when Teo was on the bench. Springer should have been playing LF with Teo/Gurriel in RF in most situations previous years. They don’t seem to think the positions are interchangeable even though they totally are. Rule of thumb is you want the better arm in RF, the better glove in LF. So, Varsho being in LF makes sense. Not sure we we’ve never seen the Whit-KK-Varsho alignment in the OF, or why Varsho has strictly played LF/CF all season.
  10. Checked the box, I see Francis was dropping some filth once again. This guy should be given a shot at cracking the rotation next spring. Let him and Alek battle it out for 5th spot
  11. Great game from Bassit. Offense got it done though it took them a while. Would be nice to get the sweep tomorrow. Then win the series against KC and put ourselves in a great position going into that Texas series.
  12. Is this not just the top 10 records currently? In order too
  13. Yeah that doesn’t add up lol
  14. You gotta use it or you lose it
  15. Well on the bright side, he pulled some nice fastballs in the air in coors so we know he’s capable of doing it. Hard to tell if its a mechanical issue or an approach issue or both
  16. Someone posted an article a while back about a major discrepancy in xwOBA on pulled fly balls vs fly balls to CF. I think its really as simple as he’s not pulling enough fly balls, and his launch angle is slightly too high to where he’s not getting those homers to CF as often as he should. Not everything is “bad luck” Chapman is also having the same problem this year with his wOBA vs xwOBA, because he stopped pulling the ball.
  17. Lol you’re smoking crack
  18. He seems to get blown up for 2-3 at bats, then he’ll strike out the side. Always seems to take a hitter or 2 for him to settle in. Not sure I like him as the “fireman” with guys on base. Leaves him 0 margins for error. Yesterday’s game was fine. A solo shot. Fine whatever.
  19. Everyone in the pen seems to be struggling right now. The management has been ok it just looks bad since everyone is bleeding runs. The one thing i’d like to see improved is to stop bringing guys back out for a 2nd inning after sitting on the bench for way too long. Like Romano last night, that top half inning was way too long and he was clearly rusty coming back out. They were using Yimi like that alot earlier in the year and it almost never worked out
  20. Not that I disagree… But im pretty sure people were saying the same s*** about Chatwood in 2021. He was electric in April, and then we continued to use him in tight games in May and he blew a handful and we know what happened. We always talk about relievers being fickle. They can absolutely go through rough patches. Yimi has been pretty jeckyl/hyde lately, unreliable. But he’s being used properly IMO. He’s like 4th/5th on the depth chart. At some point these guys have to produce, can’t use Romano every game. (Romano was kinda bad yesterday too and we’re lucky)
  21. That's a decent parallel. Bellinger was a lot worse with the bat in 2021/2022, but he still played a premium position so it made sense to hold onto him. And it made sense to release him after 2 full seasons of being s***. We could see a similar situation with Vlad if he has a mediocre 2024.
  22. Neither guy is everyday player caliber on a playoff team, but both guys are valuable bench pieces even though Espinal’s D seems like it’s fallen off a cliff
  23. Bottom 3 teams all have the same odds for the top 3 picks, then the odds decrease from there
  24. He made some great plays today honestly
