He was pretty f***ing good in 2023 but yeah year 1 was a disaster.
Actually both of our best pitchers this season were absolute dumpster fires in 2022.
Hard to see us ever having lean years like the current Orioles squad.
I would think Rogers at least continues to push short term deals to keep the team from tanking 100%.
Deals like Turner, KK, etc will likely still happen even during a rebuild
Im not sure why we weren’t interested in giving him a shot as 5th starter. I guess the front office likes Manoah and Yrod better?? Maybe Hicks wasn’t interested in coming back at all
Yeah there’s definitely things happening behind the scenes right now. Complete attitude shift from JS since the offday last week. His days may be numbered
I remember feeling at the time that Brad Hand was a risky add. He always seemed extremely volatile and never looked as good as the advanced numbers implied.
I somewhat blame Charlie for continuing to send him out in high leverage situations when it was clear he was struggling and we had other options. 1 win would have made a difference. I specifically remember that Seattle game where he kept spiking balls and also that Washington game where he gave up the big homer.
I find it hard to chalk things up to “bad luck”. The fact that EVERYONE in the lineup started underperforming at the same time makes me feel like some organizational hitting philosophy shift happened after 2022.
Your comment comparing this team to the Guardians is interesting…
