  1. Yeah that would be nice to have him in RF over Springer right now… i guess we gotta hope for Springer’s dead cat bounce before the end of his deal
  2. Its still not good. Lol so funny that Connor still doesn’t understand what wRC+ is
  3. Exception, not the rule
  4. More bad deals than good deals i bet if you compared all FA contracts. Teams need to be built with the draft + trades + international signings. You really shouldn’t have to rely on 5+ guys on your roster being on big free agent contracts and hoping they don’t decline.
  5. I’ll second this, Cleveland was nice. One of the more memorable stadium/game experiences. I like the park a lot.
  6. I can tell you with 99% certainty he’ll go to the Dodgers
  7. Nah if Atkins made those moves he would say they were just “lucky”
  8. Didn’t make the “best front offices” list either. So basically we’re middling. That’s fine I guess?? Problem is really our tough division
  9. I’ve actually seen some speculation that it has to do with Ron Washington leaving. Something about him holding players to a higher accountability than most coaches. Say one thing for Ron Wash, almost every team he’s been apart of has had a crazy good offense. Rangers, Oakland, Atlanta
  10. Just sayin I dont think he has the chops to play 3B
  11. Lol I feel that will be a disaster for them
  12. Maybe the jays need to try this. Bring back Carlos Pena and teach the guys to PLAKATA
  13. Lol take the L dude. Botox is definitely gay
  14. TB had to be cheating last year. Too many guys were hitting well above their weight, including f***ing TAYLOR WALLS Makes me wonder if the Orioles are cheating… their entire lineup is pretty much best possible outcomes
  15. Atkins refusal to pivot off the main plan will be the death of him. Like come on, you can’t make a single argument for Springer playing every day at this point besides the fact he’s one of the highest paid players on the team. If Springer was on a 1 yr deal he’d be riding the pine way more often like Turner now is
  16. Yes, it says that the team is just not good enough
  17. He kinda deserves to be benched at this point. In all likelihood Barger would provide the same value with way more upside
  18. HAHAHA f***ing burned
  19. Agree that’s a good way to approach it. Admittedly i’ve never had professional coaching past high school but the explanations never got more advanced for me. It took until i was about 19/20 to actually understand swing mechanics more. It just kills me when you see major league coaches preaching the same crap that we teach 10 year olds. Like come on dude, you can get a little more advanced than that. A good example is the famous Josh Donaldson/Derosa segment.
  20. “Trust the process”
  21. Yeah totally, I agree with everything you said. I just remember all the hitting tips I used to get as a kid, and they were all awful now looking back on it. My parents used to even pay for indoor winter academy thing and a lot of stuff they told me is shite. - squish the bug w the back foot - front foot doesn’t move after planting - rotate the hands through the swing - stay on top of the ball All BS that is disproven if you spend 2 minutes watching video of any major leaguer. VISUAL evidence will always be 1000x better than whatever bs explanation a coach comes up with. The enlightening moment/revelation for me was when I realized just how tucked the back elbow is to the torso during a swing. That’s something I never understood as a kid. And I don’t think it was ever explained to me. My swing was always a long loopy mess.
  22. I have to think the answer is yes. If we were only going to add the 1 “big bat”, there were better options IMO. Unless you put a lot of stock into the clutch/RISP numbers, then Turner was probably the best choice. I think positional versatility was also a factor, though it seems they overestimated Turner’s ability to play 3B/2B
