    If there’s aspirations of competing next year, can’t trade away our entire rotation. I don’t see this front office going “nuclear rebuild”, so I would doubt more than 1 of them get moved. More likely none of them are moved.

    Biggest deadline deal for a catcher was probably Lucroy to Cleveland, but he ended up vetoing the trade lol. I remember the prospect package was sizable. Jansen is not on that level, unfortunately his numbers are dogshit right now. So yeah I could see maybe getting 1 interesting prospect, but likely not a 50fv guy.

    Yep definitely looks like he was worth more in hindsight, but probably wasn’t worth much at the time. That trade just backfired in every way for us in 2023. Going forward and as a whole, the trade is likely fine

    They clearly thought Varsho was more, but still not a bad move. We had 3 above-average C and 0 capable CF/OF/LHH. Basically trading 6 years for 4 in a position of need. The throw-in of Gurriel kinda hurt a bit because if you value him about the same as Teo, he should have been able to net a similar return on his own.
