    Obviously phillies would have to pitch in alot of the money for salaries if that trade was made.

    Papelbon + Hamels for....? Hoffman + Pentecost + Osuna + ???? salary relief it would probably take more than that, but I think we really need another MLB starter. And a guy like Hamels would be a HUGE boost to our rotation.

    You must remember all of the bobbled balls and botched plays from Lawrie when he was first called up? Everyone on the old forum was going nuts saying that he sucked on defense. He ended up getting better. Im saying that the same could easily happen with Devon Travis. Anyways, bottom line is that Travis has looked shaky on defense so far this spring. Hopefully he can improve.

    I'm specifically talking about the hands thing. Everybody kept saying "lawrie has stone hands" and stuff like that. Now he is one of the best defenders at 3B in the league.

    Reyes is still a very good hitter, he just wont be getting many infield singles anymore

    I'll chime in on the Travis debate. I agree with Gruber, he has bobbled ALOT of balls hit to him, not just 3. I watched a game a couple weeks ago and specifically remember him bobbling the only 2 balls that were hit to him. This could be a concern, but im sure he'll improve. Travis actually reminds me of Lawrie on defense when he first came up. Lawrie improved drastically, im confident that Travis improve.

    I disagree. We've got Hutch and Stroman, Sanchez and Norris will be a year more seasoned, Osuna and others will likely be in AAA, and the SP free agent crop is very good next offseason. Dickey can be replaced by a younger, better pitcher for a slightly higher salary.
