  1. So bench spots don't matter is what you're saying. Ok.
  2. No he hasn't. He's been below replacement level and projects to be so going forward. To roster that production in the form of an aging, nearly lifeless husk of a former ball player in a year where you've pushed all the chips in the middle says quite a bit about the decision making process used by The Fat Greek and co.
  3. Lol @ Mark DeRosa desperately trying to justify his existence.
  4. 38% Not good but still a big gap. Honestly though, Johnson has not been that bad this year. A smart GM would try to lowball him on a contract right about now (2 or 3 years). But our obese idiot will be blinded by his ERA to even think about doing such a thing.
  5. Drabek's zone% last year? 33%. Words can't really describe how bad that is for a major league pitcher.
  6. Easy Big Guy.
  7. Well sure. But: A) Pillar doesn't project to be an "OBP" guy in the MLB for the reasons others have stated. We don't know much about his defense. He's a decent enough depth piece. But that's it.
  8. Yah, if this is the logic, it truly is nuts. Would definitely not shock me though.
  9. I hate to break it to you, but the Jays are stat averse for all intents and purposes. The employment of one under-qualified individual who the decision makers thoroughly ignore is not evidence to the contrary.
  10. Beeston is AA's boss. The front office's over reliance on pro scouting is on him as much as it's on AA. Big picture, philosophical decisions like this that govern the direction of an organization are most certainly under the president's umbrella.
  11. That article couldn't be more misleading. Sartori basically knows the CBA inside and out. That's it. He did not "develop" software while working for the MLB. He was part of the team that hired a firm to build them EBIS which is, by all accounts, a gigantic turd sandwich. Sheehan is a f***ing botanist from a 2 bit college in Ohio. If he's the only one actually doing stats for your baseball team, you're f***ed.
  12. Tango does not consult for the Jays. He has an exclusive agreement with the Cubs. He did one small study for the team a couple years ago. His involvement has been largely overstated.
  13. Really glad Cecil and Delabar made it over Longoria and Beltre....

Yah, it would be a total s*** show. Would not be shocked at all if he does play in the K next year.

I find it highly unlikely the NHL would be able to block Kovalchuck from playing in the KHL if he so chose. Any non compete clauses in there would be dubious at best.

  17. Indeed. Perhaps this regime shouldn't have invested ~80% of their draft resources on pitching...
  18. You're right. f*** JP.
  19. I can't find it in my heart to make fun of such a well run org anymore. Though some of those posters were fascinatingly stupid.
  20. Adam Jones = JPA with wheels.

When you get the chance to overpay for someone's decline years, you do it.
  22. Sadly accurate.
