  1. I'm trying to go 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 on an end of roster player, but it's easier said than done. Even rebuilding teams are attached to the guys they have. The ironic thing is, I was the one who insisted on 20 man rosters. North, trading a better player to keep a worse one is cutting off my nose to spite my face. I'd rather stack the Waiver Draft so I have a better chance at getting one back at #14.
  2. It's looking pretty likely that I'll be cutting Bourn, Cishek, Balfour, and Street. It's not ideal, but that's the nature of this league. I hope to get at least one of those closers back in the Rule 5.
  3. I will trade Michael Bourn for literally anything. A rebuilding team could turn a nice profit if they send me a late pick for him and he rebuilds enough value to sell off during the season.
  4. I was actually surprised to see how many mid-round picks I have after this deal. I thought my farm was a lot more depleted than it is.
  5. That would be really nice. He just needs 10 games or 5 games started per season. Leonys Martin has a major platoon split, so it's quite possible. In my mind I chose to keep Chris Davis over Freddie Freeman for the long haul. Miggy will probably also lose 3B eligibility next year, so I was either going to trade Freeman now, or next off-season. I think Choo is a better fantasy player in this format than Freeman for the foreseeable future, and I wasn't going to acquire a better CF than Choo (good luck getting Trout, McCutchen, or Cargo).
  6. No doubt I took on some age here, but CF was a weakness for me and 1B/DH was a strength. I prefer to take Freeman out of the equation altogether and think of this as: Buxton + Crick + Glasnow + some late picks for Sale + Choo + Ortiz + Heredia + those pick upgrades from No49.
  7. And I'm sure No49 can attest to this, but Choo was my target all along. I've been pestering him with offers for months.
  8. The market seemed to dictate that Price was the more valuable player, and I can buy that, but I'm very glad to land my elite CF, a position that was very weak for me. And next year, Choo still plays nicely as just an OF, when I presume Torii will retire. I still like Price and I think Jfas is low on him though.
  9. Maybe, but Phillips and Bailey would probably be good for ~7 WAR.
  10. I also think it's a weak draft, and I doubted that I'd get a pitcher with as much upside at #14. I'm sure roster crunch was also a consideration for you.
  11. I can understand why some people don't buy in on Archer, but after watching him pitch, I really like him. He's got heat, a filthy breaking ball and a plus changeup, and he's just a nasty motherf***er on the mound. He's also got a nice GB rate. I like the swagger and the competitiveness, and I like the Rays ability to develop pitching (and Molina). I was also really impressed how he cut his walk rate at the major league level, that's a lot easier said than done. I think he'll give me 170 IP in the 3.50-3.70 FIP range, and I think he'll emerge as a SP2 type over the next few years. Maybe an A.J. Burnett type career.
  12. It's true, I haven't won s***. I finished like 7th. Although I have added Sale, Price, Desmond, Ortiz, Archer, and Torii since then.
  13. Well if we're doing whole staff, I want another 1.5 for Koji.
  14. Sale's slider is also probably a top 5 pitch in baseball.
  15. I'd take Kershaw for the ERA and Winz, but it's worth noting that Sale bested him in K rate, BB rate, velo, GB%, and he's younger. If you remove the team and park context, theres a case for it; but of course baseball isn't played in a vacuum.
  16. I'd have to agree, but I'm also surprised Darvish hasn't entered the conversation yet.
  17. I think youre a playoff contender this year, Ass.
