Bobby Parnell (elbow) will be shut down for the next week due to forearm soreness. The Mets don't appear to be overly concerned at this point, but Parnell's velocity has been down and he's been knocked around in his three rehab outings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over 2 2/3 innings. Obviously, he's not going to rejoin the big club's bullpen anytime soon. --- Meanwhile, Jeurys Familia is killing it: 11 K/9, 4 K/BB, 58% GB, 2.05 xFIP, 96 MPH avg FB, league leading 8 saves

The surface really is playing extremely slow and the seams are quite noticeable. Can't say I disagree with Buck's points. -
Yuck, what's going on with Cishek? Down to 89.2 MPH and 5.6% SwStr. He never had a good SwStr for a closer but that's just not going to get it done for long.

Boxy, what's going on with Winker at AA? It's almost like his mediocre bat speed is going to be a problem against advanced pitching. The plate discipline is going too, he's getting out walked by Almora at the same level!
