  1. WTF happened to Winker's ISO, anyway? It's like his bat doesn't play up against advanced pitching. Maybe a bat speed issue. If only someone could have seen this coming! Next Joey Votto tho, amirite?
  2. Feel free to lose sleep over him, it's no skin off my back.
  3. Even Fangraphs puts a 45 FV on him. He's Coghlan, Pillar, Grossman, etc.
  4. Billy McKinney profiles as a no power 4th OF. No big loss.
  5. That's a pretty ballsy move by NJH, trading his best asset for a guy that's on the DL with plantar fasciitis. That injury can really linger and/or sap power, so he might not get any contributions from CoreDick for awhile. Conversely, I don't really see a huge advantage to silvergun adding Scherzer, since he already has the best pitching in the league. Overall, I hate it for both of you.
  6. Anybody watching the repeat of the White Sox game? Special guest play by play announcer Chuck Swirsky!
  7. 1) The Red Sox farm is ridiculously stacked right now. 2) Fap. Pitcher of the day: Michael Kopech, RHP, Red Sox (Greenville, Low-A): 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 SO. Kopech thoroughly dominated the overmatched Augusta GreenJackets on Wednesday night. He faced 16 batters in his four innings: eight of them struck out and nobody mustered a fly ball (though there was one line drive). The 19-year-old breezed through four innings, inducing 12 swing and misses during his brief outing. He sat in the mid-to-high 90s, topping out at 99 mph while integrating the rest of his three-pitch mix into his game plan. Just a year out of high school, Kopech will spend the rest of the campaign improving his slider and changeup, and tightening up his command. Whether he does that in the Sally League or in a more competitive environment depends on how deliberate the Red Sox plan to be with their former first-rounder.
  8. Man, Gerrit Cole is an absolute stallion. Very jealous that I don't have any shares.
  9. I'd be surprised if Kazmir is done for the season considering how effective he's been. It could happen though. Michael Lorenzen should step right in and replace those innings adequately! Or not.
  10. I dunno, Rodon? Doesn't really matter tho, cause I have two Top 10 SPs and a killer bullpen. I'll probably add another mid rotation starter, but so far I've been quite competitive in Ks and Ws.
  11. Those aren't the initial projections you were all fapping to, those are the revised ones. Nice try though.
  12. There was never any hype about Gattis. He was never a Top 100 prospect, and he wasn't drafted at all in either our MLB or MiLB drafts. I'm not even sure if I used a waiver on him.
  13. Between this and Souza, I'm starting to think projections shouldn't be taken as gospel during spring training.
  14. He'll have more Ks than Alvarez, probably in the 6-7 K/9 range. Maybe Porcello!
  15. The purpose was to educate your ignorant, stat-scouting ass as to why he has trade value. Now you know.
  16. Not saying I agree with that assessment, just stating the facts. Stephenson looks pretty busted right now anyway, so perhaps its a case of overrating him.
  17. I traded Lorenzen for Haren and O'Day in FC and have received interest in him here as well. He has some value, no one is pitching him as an elite prospect. That said, BP ranked him #63 this offseason, making him comparable to prospects like Manaea, Eduardo Rodriguez, etc. They also quoted some scouts last year who preferred him to Stephenson, and clearly the Reds do too. He throws hard and has limited home runs in the minors, he should be a fine, league average SP. Maybe something akin to Eovaldi.
  18. What hype? He's completely under the radar.
  19. Should I call up Lorenzen or nah? I'm willing to package him with another starter like Greene for an upgraded/older pitcher.
  20. I'd just like to point out that Brandon Belt is a better hitter than Eric Hosmer, both this year in terms of wRC+, and for his career (by a far more significant margin). Strange how no one talks about Belt.
  21. Spanky receives 2nd round (35) in our tradesie-backsie.
  22. You're probably going to trade him to me this off-season for a Rodon based deal, so don't fret too much.
