It's such a pleasure after years of mediocre catchers to watch such a powerful and accurate arm on a regular basis. Most of his throws would hit the bag if they weren't caught.

The value is in reading the reports on emerging prospects, not blindly following the lists of their fantasy guys who don't even attend games in person. They basically just went to the Dynasty Guru crew and threw them a bit of money to do fantasy content for BP. Their fantasy crew is easily the weakest link on the site, they cater to 5x5 leagues (what kind of BP subscriber is really playing 5x5 redrafts?) and generally post a lot of dubious ********.

I don't think improved command constitutes a massive and unexpected skill change. His skills are his 98 MPH sinker and plus curve ball, which he's been unable to command much or turn into the viable K pitch that it looks like it should be. He has the skills, he lacks the refinement. Even a moderate improvement in his command could make him a very valuable asset. You can't teach his heat but you can reasonably expect a young pitcher's command to have a chance to improve. He'll never be an elite K/BB guy, but he doesn't have to be if he can get to 60% GB.
