  1. 2B Travis 3B Donaldson DH Bautista 1B EE LF Saunders SS Tulowitzki C Martin RF Upton CF Pillar 5-6-7 should be fluid depending on who's hot, but I'd tend to bat Saunders higher to break up the righties a bit.
  2. He's been unplayable all season. Actually, last year too. The times when I was forced to roll with him due to injury have been bleak journeys into the ratio abyss. I've come to the conclusion that Keon Broxton is simply a better option now and going forward, and I've had zero trade interest in Ellsbury; not even for a late pick. I offered him to BTS for Siegrist, and BTS opted for a 3rd rd pick instead lol.
  3. Boxy, I don't want to lose to you, but if Miggy can help me beat silvergun this week, I'll take it.
  4. Yep. I'll commish the add/drop, I can't edit the Google Doc at work tho.
  5. You're right, he's not worse.
  6. John Lackey's career is borderline miraculous, gotta hand it to him. He sucked for several years and was circling the drain, then somehow rebounded in his late 30s to have the true prime of his career. That is rare and remarkable. Even still, no one is going to draft him ahead of Gerrit Cole in a dynasty.
  7. If Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay have taught us anything, it's that Scherzer's arm is just as likely to explode. The difference is how many good years they'd each have after the explosion. If you blow out your elbow at 23, you can lose a year and then have another good decade. Blow out your arm at 33, often it can be the end of the line.
  8. Except you spent a higher pick on Scherzer than I spent on Syndergaard, so really it was you who paid out the ass for someone who is demonstrably worse and 10 years older.
  9. Smyly blows lol. He's a damn home run machine.
  10. All my ratios this week are pug fugly, it sure isn't a runaway.
  11. He's been shopping Gattis and other pieces for weeks now, IIRC.
  12. Sal Perez' OPS has been in a free fall for almost two months now, he's been killing me at the position.
  13. You're a stingy negotiator, maybe you can get a throw-in, like a reliever upgrade. Ultimately though, you should pull the trigger straight up if necessary.
  14. You also don't want EE going to one of your competitors, since I'm assuming his owner is in sell mode.
  15. There's also nothing to really indicate that Cole is suddenly going to take it to a higher gear. He's never been a high whiff guy, so unless something changes, I can't see him becoming a K/IP starter. Could be he's just more of a fantasy SP2 than an ace.
  16. What place are you in and how many teams make the playoffs? I'd probably do it, he's a big upgrade on CCC and your 1B/DH situation will be ugly after Ortiz retires. Owning EE really is a pleasure.
  17. How many teams in your league? Who else do you have at 1B/DH? Who else is in your rotation? In a vacuum, I would say no. You'd be selling Cole at the bottom of a down cycle and buying EE at peak value, but depending on how competitive you are and the depth of your SP, it might make sense.
  18. Mid 7 K/9, sub-10% SwStr %, xFIP approaching 4... kinda reminds me of Sonny Gray. I was so, so close to taking him over Syndergaard, too.
  19. Catcher is a wasteland. I traded him because he lost C eligibility, but now that he has it back, he's an asset again. He's also been on fire over the last month. Easy keeper for me.
  20. Instant Gattisfaction! Welcome home, you one-trick pony.
  21. Martin has paid off about half of his contract now.
  22. Jim Johnson is a solid back-end save collector in our little racket. Maybe not a reliever you want to roll with every day, but in a tight week where you really need saves, you can bench one of your better holds guys and roll with JJ for the category play. There's definite utility there, I've been abusing him in BORED since he got the job.
  23. I would easily trade Seager for Bryant in a fantasy context, but I think Seager is sexier.
  24. It's only fitting that Evan Gattis should come on home to the team named after him.
