    LOL ur dumb. It's 10 games played or 5 games started, that earns you a position in a given year. Any position earned in a given year is automatically granted the following year, we have observed this repeatedly (for ex. Miggy at 3B, Bautista at CF, Gattis at C, Gattis without C, etc etc).

    I think they both just had career years so it's pretty hard to tell who's going to be better. It's probably pretty even, but Grandal was ranked 279th this year and Porcello was ranked 16th. A lot of that is the fluky win total, but it's also the 220 IP of 5.9 K/BB. I also ended up benching Grandal or Gattis a lot last year when they were both scorching hot, it wasn't a very efficient use of a roster spot.

    I'm trying to abstract this with algebra so I don't have to think about the fact that I just acquired a pitcher who once cost me $500. Porcello = Duffy, therefore in my mind I traded Grandal for Odor, which fills a need from a depth.

    I would really like to know what is going on between the Jays front office and Pompey behind closed doors, because I can't for the life of me understand why they are content to just bounce him around the high minors for 3-4 years without giving him an extended look. I think maybe there are attitude/makeup concerns, maybe some anxiety disorder or something. Even if you think Pompey has been a disappointment thus far in his MLB career (which I don't) his numbers are still better than Ezequiel Carrera. At the very least he should be a perfectly adequate 4th outfielder.

    Yeah honestly, if we're serious about Fowler, I don't know why we wouldn't be in on Cespedes. I would love to get Yo and just plunk him in RF where be belongs. I would give him up to 5/$135M. People seem to have narrowly framed this problem as "we need a leadoff hitter/OBP type OF"... well no, actually we just need a good player.
