Can you imagine how devastated everyone (jays fans/players/coaches/manager/the FO) would have felt if that was the deciding moment in the loss? Nahhhhh, won't waste another thought on that now. It was more a lapse in concentration and one I feel he will most probably never make again. Yeahhhhh, baseball is awesome!

Any Texas fan who feels it is necessary to talk about that bat flip needs to have a reality check. What they should be focusing on is the non-plays which lead up to that particular situation. That action did not cause them to lose the game and get knocked out of the ALDS. What I do remember about Texas is their happy-go-lucky attitude before the game started, their exuberance displayed when they scored the controversial run, and of course their unbelievable meltdown - up 2-0 in a 5-game series and the multiple errors in that inning - some of them may have nice hair but all of them sure ain't ready.

I believe in respecting the game however there is a need to keep things in perspective when analyzing situations. I do not believe his actions were deliberate so he gets a pass from me. They were in the middle of a "Do or Die" game laced with a lot of controversy up to that point; his entire focus was solely on the ball when he swung and launched it; in a fraction of a second he reacted to what just transpired; he is human and it is not as easy to curb that heightened, explosive feeling of euphoria. It's akin to watching a fuse burn (as the ball left the bat in a long arc into the air) and experiencing the big explosion at the end (fans/team-mates/coaches' roar of approval.) I know what you mean about the role model image however sometimes it's just not humanely possible to contain excitement in that sort of situation.

Defense played a huge role as well in the final outcome. Pillar's "Swoop and scoop" and Goins plays went a long way in keeping momentum on the Jays side while the Texas defense made them crash. Encarnacion's HR was really a statement shot - don't play with the birds. Bautista's HR on the other hand was just plain ole apocalyptic in nature for Texas. Bautista, the fire-breathing monster, released all of his inner turmoil on that little ball. There was a lot of controversy up to that point which created a bone of contention however the monster made a happy meal of it in the end. That moment can only, in it truest sense, be described as bitter-sweet - Bitter for Texas and oh so sweet for BlueJays. Those are just some of the contributors since Osuna and the others all played their parts admirably. It was a special day in Jaysland - from ceremonial pitch to the final out. Also, love how they came out to celebrate with the fans - what a fitting end to a highly charged game.

Really??? Price is a choker and it's not Stroman's spot so who would you want to pitch in this deciding game? The 3rd best or 4th best pitcher?

If he swung at that ball and got rung up people in this thread would have gone insane and they would have been right cuz it was too low to chase.

Hard to say what the eventual score would have been but with an accurate call it would have been bases loaded, no outs - huge difference.

With Reyes D at SS I am fairly certain the Jays would not have reached this point.

Perez realizes that he does not have to put it in the strike zone cuz the hitters are swinging anyway. When they stop chasing he will come into the zone cuz it will be called as balls. Jays need to show some patience though.

It does look as if the strike zone has widened. This can negatively impact a hitter cuz when he thinks its outside based on a previous at-bat he is then caught off-guard. Inconsistency is never good in this game at this level and especially now, in such an important series.

That was tough luck however it was in his glove but the force of him hitting the wall jarred it loose. Keep it up and you will be on the IL cuz I sure do not have patience for this during the post season.
