It's not a joke though, it's a constant state. We don't like them, generally, and they don't like us, generally. Generally, they enjoyed rubbing their fleeting success in the faces of Jays fans the last couple years and now it's our turn. This was never a joke, this is about taking a huge steaming dump on a fanbase that needs a reality check.
Is it immature? Yes. Is it petty? Absolutely. Who cares? If you think the joke has expired, ignore it. If it embarrasses you as a jays fan, there are things far more embarrassing. Such as the existence of Jeff Blair.
