I don't even understand why this is a big deal. Would you hit Pillar second? Third? No? Then why argue for him to lead off?

The bottom line is that this isn't a new injury and he was really good still while pitching with it. Of course he could explode but I don't see it as particularly likely.
He's had that since before he signed with the Dodgers and they knew about it. The reason he got surgery is that he was just feeling irritation more often, with no real change in terms of structure damage. It's a very small tear.

Sure but Kershaw would be an exception, not a rule. Most guys who have s***** command remain s***** though there's certainly tantalizing TOR potential in the event it happens. Randy Johnson didn't get his s*** together until he was what, 28?
I'd also agree with all of these except I think Cueto will be much better than Rodon unless he gets his command together. Guy like him can really tank your K/bb on his bad days.
