Yeah I don't really get the point that this board is hostile. In my head I'm really just translating it to, "the main posters are too knowledgeable and should try to dumb it down a bit." I can't think of a single time where a guy started posting and people shat on him/her for no reason. Half of these "new posters" are Kang/LTR/MJ anyway and Spanky sniffs them out like the good troll hound he is.
Price has been as good as he's always been this year, IMO. Sometimes guys just get unlucky with where their batted balls go (in his case, over the fence).
You were talking about the price of Pomeranz. I said I wasn't surprised that the guy who overvalued Matt Kemp and Craig Kimbrel would place supreme value on ERA. I thought it was pretty obvious I was referring to AJ Preller but I guess not?
Even if you assume that he regresses to a league average HR rate, a 3.66 ERA makes him an extremely valuable arm at his salary. That's pretty much a solid #2. Regardless of his velocity, he's missing bats at a very sexy rate and Steamer still projects him for a 3.37 ERA/3.56 FIP at the end of the year with a k/9 near 10.
The Jays were perceived as losers who played in an empty stadium for pretty much the entirety of those 20 years, though. I really doubt that perception exists now.
Also, AJ Burnett (which was a massive signing when it happened).
Not surprising. Guy who overvalued Matt Kemp and Craig Kimbrel places most weight on ERA, nothing else to see here.
His HR/FB is not really especially low, though, and he's under control until 2018. I'd be comfortable selling any prospects the Padres want.
Boston media is probably the worst group in the entire league. At least Toronto's are just harmlessly stupid, but the guys in Boston are huge homers, extremely rough on their own players, gossipy, and they love to tamper with other teams.
Oh my, look at how careful people have to be these days. I'm sure he doesn't understand the implication that this author is levying, probably doesn't give a s*** one way or the other. But yeah, because he said "yeah I agree that all lives matter" he's a problematic racist. Give me a break.
Idk about that. I think they reacted quickly and appropriately enough that no one will harbor any animosity except the craziest of BLM advocates.
Just so embarrassing. His heart might have been in the right place, but that's just the complete wrong platform to get your point across. You're not gonna do anything but piss people off, I'm not sure how he didn't realize this.
It's just an interesting moment. I don't know that people are overly offended, but this is akin to Kanye's "Imma let u finish" moment. Just a cringy thing that happened on a pretty big stage.
