  1. This is a very funny Twitter Parody account of Mike Wilner
  2. AA must be relieved that with today's victory against Baltimore, the Jays have more wins than the 2004 season where they finished with 67 wins. The big question is whether or not the team can do better than last year's 73 win season. The rest of the games are against AL East teams that are fighting for playoff spots except the Red Sox which are virtually guaranteed a spot. The other teams will be motivated to win games, so it will be a good test Thoughts? I just realized after writing this post that I meant 2013 not 2014. Can the Jays win more than 73 games in 2013 ?.
  3. That's just sad. I don't understand why AA has let Napoli,Buck,Molina TDA & YAN GOMES leave the organization with no backup plan. Gomes has a higher WAR than JPA for Cleveland Anyone of those are outperforming JPA.
  4. Is it just me or did Buck & Tabby completely ignore JPA's latest strike out ? JP is like the forgotten child.
  5. Colby hits #20 to the second deck!!! Jays up 4-3
  6. That guy is hilarious! I found it strange that Wilner agreed with the caller that AA's job would be at risk if the team finished in last place in 2014. I would think Wilner would hedge his bets & say it depends on injuries. Wouldn't Rogers let AA stay till the end of 2015, regardless of performance?
  7. A nice gesture from a Jays Fan. http://brittghiroli.mlblogs.com/2013/09/13/davis-50th-home-run-ball/ Chris Davis also thanked Gibby for taking Todd Redmond out of the game, so he would have a chance to hit his 50th yesterday as well.
  8. I think baseball will return to Montreal at some point in the future. The economy is in better shape now than in the 1990's. The Saputo family which is very wealthy owns the soccer team which is going to make the playoffs in the second season. I could see them trying to bring a team to Montreal. Unfortunately. Jeff Loria let the option on the vacant piece of land in downtown Montreal expire prior to selling the team to the MLB. I am sure they could find a piece of land to build somewhere in downtown Montreal. Expos Nation will rise again !
  9. I find the lease issue to be strange. I thought Rogers wanted the Jays to play on grass ASAP. They must be aware of the damage to Jays players that get hurt on turf.
  10. Here is a post from Keith from last November. http://keitholbermann.mlblogs.com/2012/11/13/the-marlins-a-modest-proposal/ If the Rays moved to Montreal, can you imagine the Rogers Centre crowd during Expos -Jays games?? Any fans of Expos Nation here?
  11. Do you trust that AA can build a better team with a draft pick a few spots higher? The team has trouble signing its fist round picks. I think finishing strong helps AA convince Rogers to increase the budget for 2014. Some of the kids could get starting jobs in 2014 or be used as trade bait to get a better C & starting pitcher . A few years ago the team was afraid to call up Brett Lawrie for service time issues & he broke his hand in a minor league game. He ended up not showing up till August 2011. The jays need a minimum budget of 125 -150 million during the 2013-2015 window if they want to play competitive baseball in September.
  12. I wonder if there is a Blue Jays wing at his clinic.
  13. Santos was throwing 95mph this week against the yankees.
  14. Was Buerhle on a pitch count? Why was he removed ?
  15. He's our most consistent starter this year. I hope AA keeps him for 2014, even though the salary cost is very high.
  16. I totally agree with you. He's great guy in person as well. We met him in 2011 at Jays Camp. Posed for pictures, joked with my kid. He's the perfect 4th OF. Could the Jays ring him back 2 years 8 million? We should keep Rajai for another year until we've decided if Gose is the next Otis Nixon or the next Rajai Davis.
  17. I haven't had had a chance to go to a game this year in Buffalo. I loved the stadium last time I went. Hopefully, I can get to some games next year. Buffalo is better than Vegas for player development.
  18. The AAA roster should be better next year. Hutch,Drabek ,Redmond should be ready to help. I can't see the 2014 Jays giving multiple starts to Ramon Ortiz & Wang
  19. Sad but true. Did Sportsnet interview the players about their reaction to Gibby's return? I haven't heard any complaints about him from the playrs
  20. It looks like AA has made his decision to keep Gibby for 2014. The heat is on Gibby for next year. No WBC in 2014. Full training camp. Healthy Roster. Plenty of backup pitching.
  21. He did say that but he also discussed payroll parameters after the darvish fiasco. AA was not given much more money in 2012
  22. AA was bashed for not getting Darvish or Fielder in the late 2011- early 2012. Rogers wasn't ready to spend money on the team. Rogers opened up the chequebook with the new broadcast money earned by the MLB for 2013 onwards. Every team is getting more money & Rogers no longer qualifies for revenue sharing based on market size. If Rogers can continue to provide a top 10 payroll budget, AA should be able to fix the holes for 2014.
  23. That's right Gibbers. There were rumors on DJF that AA was trying to get a 3B through trade, so moving Lawrie to 2B would be OK.
  24. Would AA go after Scosia who has no links to the Jays? AA said he was not comfortable with Farrell, who was with the Red Sox as a pitching coach. I could see AA being afraid of a veteran successful Manager with playoff experience. I can't see Mike Scosia listening to anything AA tells him. Scosia would not put up with Lawrie at 2B experiments.
