I dont believe Goins to be a 2.5 win player, but it's not impossible. If he continues to show the patience he did in the second half of 2015 I wouldn't be surprised to see him somewhere between 2-3 fWAR.

Power is at a premium right now. I never understood why so many here thought a Zobrist contract would be comparable to a Bautista extension. I'd expect 4/80 for Bautista and 4/70ish for EE. -

Do you really believe the Jays have a hard cap of $140? If one of Shapiro's targets puts payroll in the $145-150 range I can't see Rogers standing in the way.

Exactly. Unless im mistaken, Shapiro himself said he asked for a payroll increase and it was granted.

I mentioned the same thing in the other Happ thread. I also questioned whether or not a left handed pitcher would have any influence on the Dickey effect.

Has anyone suggested he'd have an ERA under 3? I'm not even sure why some are so surprised with Happ getting 3/36. The Jays damn near paid Estrada $15.6m and paid Buehrle $19m last season. Happ at $12m isn't bad at all. If he puts up 6 or more WAR over the next 3 year I'd say we did ok here.

You do realize that Happ is being paid is USD. I think adding a lefty to the rotation may have been part of the plan, the Jays play a lot of games at Fenway and Yankee Stadium. I wonder if left handed pitchers have any influence on the Dickey effect?

You have any proof of this? Why isn't this ever mentioned in articles discussing KBO players coming to MLB?

Thats possible, but it doesn't change the fact that another big season in the KBO likely gets him a MLB deal.
