  1. I only skimmed this post, but am I right that people want to trade Reyes? And they feel he isn't a superstar? Sure, he is no Tulo, but who the hell plays shortstop??? Sign Drew for 15 mil a year? No thanks! Shortly, Reyes's 4 year contract is going to look pretty good.
  2. I'd love it if u could do a side by side clip of JP and yadier Molina to compare.
  3. Maybe I'm wrong but in that clip it looks like JP stabs at the ball a bit and really it's just a horrid call by the umpire.
  4. The jays best chance at contending is having a guy like stroman step into the rotation and be a legit starter. The rays have young guys do it successfully all the time, now it's our turn.
  5. The baseball off season is brilliant, but the first couple weeks are always slow. I have noticed my twitter feed has slowed in a serious way....perhaps guys are breaking/vacationing before the storm hits. I can't wait till the night when a jays trade or FA signing breaks and I'm glued to twitter/mlbtraderumors all night till I can't take it anymore, then wake up hoping the official word is released only to again stayed glued to twitter all freakin day. LOVE IT!
  6. To me this is the clearest sign joeybats is potentially gone this year. His start early and pull the ball is exactly opposite of what Seitzer preaches. Then again, they might just let Bautista do his own thing.
  7. What if the trade is beckham for JP? Straight up. I'm in.
  8. Haha I was 16, guess I couldn't count!
  9. I was 16 and I remember telling my dad who is also a huge fan that the jays will dominate forever and nothing can stop them and we get 4 million a game so we will forever be a powerhouse. I'll always remember him saying, this is baseball and there will be a time when we are the worst team in the league and a long stretch of years where we are a horrible team and there's a good chance we'll never witness another World Series in our lifetime, he said you just never know with baseball. I laughed him off........
  10. I was kidding, it's actually more - -, but I guess that would be a + cause two negatives make a positive so in actuality I guess it's just s***.
  11. Thole AND nickeas, that's not +....that's ++.
  12. I might be able to gather one more season of optimism out of my pessimistic blue jays ass...JJ resigns for 7 mil and dominates, morrow is healthy and dominates, dickey pitches like the 2nd half last year, Hutchison pitches like he was before injury, stroman wins ROY in a close race to the jays new signing tanaka, drabek finds his stuff and the strike zone...holy s*** we have too much pitching.
  13. Hahahahaha I've never given a flying f*** about this award, but really did this have to happen. I find it comical, it really is a s***** time to be a jays fan!
  14. This isn't worth much but nick cafardo said this in his Sunday column: 6. Signs point to the Blue Jays spending to acquire another big bat, two starting pitchers, and a bullpen piece. And maybe I’ll pick them again. Not a reliable source especially when he says a bullpen piece, then again AA loves him a good bullpen arm.
  15. Thanks...I think the terrible D throws me off, the bat might possibly bounce back, but the D will only get worse especially on turf. I say stick with Romero.
  16. Romero for Uggla and the braves even out the money? Who if either of these two is a better bet to bounce back? Too lazy to look up ugglas splits but he could be the right half of our DH platoon as well and play goins at second while Uggla dh's....just realized I'm 99% sure Uggla bats right but could be wrong.
  17. I wonder if we could work Romero into an Uggla/Phillips ugly contract deal.
  18. What I've noticed in these playoffs is how smooth a catcher like yadier Molina is behind the plate and how much he helps his pitchers. U know, almost like J.P. ....
  19. I barely saw the puig and A-gon "Mickey Mouse" celebration but from what I saw it looked similar to what the jays do consistently while 15 games back and down by 2 runs....or did I miss something. Either way I really hope the jays cut that s*** out, it's embarrassing. Edit: yeah that's not pug...it's puig.
  20. This is just AA posturing for the off season, let other teams know how close Cecil was to being a starter so when they talk trades AA can say Cecil is a swing man and more valuable. Cecil, Jansen, and pillar for a half decent catcher.....
  21. Back on subject, I think Phillips will be available this year...not sure if I would want him though to be honest. 2014 33 Cincinnati Reds $11,000,000 2015 34 Cincinnati Reds $12,000,000 2016 35 Cincinnati Reds $13,000,000 2017 36 Cincinnati Reds $14,000,000 I think we would end up hating that contract. Although I think I read that 1 war is worth 6.7 million this year so maybe it's a decent contract.
  22. If gordie was the gm and pulled off a trade for Philips with hutch, Sanchez and morrow he would get ripped to shreds and I would f***in hate the guy....however, it's true that perhaps morrow never pitches again, Sanchez drifts off into bust which is highly possible and hutch is a 5 at best and in the end we win the trade. Reminds me of another gm who landed dickey....maybe in the end we win the trade, no need to rip on the gm yet until we know....and what's the point of ripping on gordie for suggesting it, it's fun to talk potential trades. No need to be bitches about it.
  23. I'm with frenchsoup, would Cincinnati do that trade? Morrow, Sanchez, and hutch is absolutely f***ing retarded, sorry. And I think morrow is a 15 game starter.
  24. That's about it olerud....EE does his thing and Bautista is about the same as this year, misses a month somewhere with injury.
  25. Linds option picked up, then sent to NL for a low level prospect with decent upside. 2 million sent to nil team in the deal. Lind goes on to have an injury free career year. Melky is full time DH and lights the world on fire in his walk year, offered qualifying offer at end of season. Left field is platoon between Gose and Sierra with pillar in AAA. Reyes has a typical year and gets injured in the 2nd half with about 40 games to play. Ervin Santana is signed for 5 years $75 million and is a semi bust. Dickey turns into a very solid #2, has a very good year. Morrow pitches in 15 games. Hutchison is one of our best pitchers. As is stroman who is called up in 2nd half. Redmond is given a spot out of spring as #5 and 6-8 starts are wasted on his shittyness before he heads to buffalo. Lawrie is an all star. Arencebia is traded and turns into a top 10 catcher for a NL team, becomes public enemy #1 for every jays fan....except for 15 year old girls who continually talk on twitter about how a true jays fan would never have wanted him off the team. Jays are decent, not good enough for playoffs, not bad enough to trade vets at deadline. Finish 7 games out of wildcard but are never close enough to be interesting. Sanchez has tommy john surgery in the 2nd half effectively ending his 2015 season as well.
