  1. Why do we need to lose a trade to free up a roster spot to sign a free agent? We're at 39 right now aren't we? Expect free agent signing announcement in 3,2,1......
  2. I see what your saying bts, but I'm not going to curse the guy tell it happens.
  3. Why are u all cursing on AA for a hypothetical rumoured trade that hasn't and won't happen. Shouldn't we be happy with him that he didn't trade EE straight up for Price? I think a lot of you are gonna be back on AA's balls by this time next month.
  4. Don't under estimate the power of addition by subtraction. Not having black holes at 2b, catcher, and LF will be a huge upgrade on the field and mentally. Plus all those starts for AAAA pitchers we used last year already look more promising going into next year. I'm certain AA will pull something off at the winter meetings that will get us all legitimately excited to!
  5. I'm quite confident Rasmus will put it all together next season and have a career year. He looked really good when back from injury last year. I'm thinking he'll lead this team in WAR next season. I can't envision getting fair value in a trade for him.
  6. Yes, I think as a jays fan I'd rather he sign for 10 years with NY and have them stuck with another monstrosity of a contract, even if he still will be good for another 3 years or so.
  7. Just claw my eyes out so I can't watch...or kill me...or make me a Red Sox fan if this happens.
  8. Rays/jays/mariners three way including Bautista and price. Rays can't afford Bautista.
  9. Stroman and Sanchez are the starting points, plus 2 more prospects. If it only takes one of the 2 I'm in, for both ++ I'm out.
  10. Did I miss this posted somewhere from mlbtraderumors: The Mariners, Dodgers, Angels, Pirates, Rangers, Diamondbacks and Blue Jays all have interest in David Price and believe they could put together a strong enough package to convince the Rays to deal him, Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan writes. The Mariners would be especially interested in Price if they also acquire Robinson Cano, and they might be willing to include Taijuan Walker to make a deal happen, Passan reports. Earlier today, Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik told the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton, "[A]lways have felt there would be a time where we have to augment this club. I think we’re at that time" (Twitter link). Price has two years remaining before free agency, and MLBTR projects he'll make $13.1MM in the arbitration process this winter. The Rays aren't in a position where they must trade him, Passan points out, so they won't be desperate in negotiations. They could target a big-league-ready pitcher to step into Price's place in their rotation, Passan reports, and one would think that Walker, one of baseball's top young starters, would fit the bill. Walker, 21, posted a 2.93 ERA with 10.2 K/9 and 3.6 BB/9 in 141 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2013 before making three starts at the big-league level.
  11. I don't want to get my hopes up, but hasn't AA said in the right circumstance they would consider going longer then 5 years? Or is it a hard set in stone rule? How about stretching it to 7 for Cano.... Put the man on a mission to f*** the yanks with some Dominican brothers!
  12. Well I didn't put a lot of thought into the statement to be honest, just a random thought but I do wonder what would happen. Would they give into their tiny fan base and have resigned guys like Crawford and uptown and shields, paying about 50-60 million of the 80 to those 3 alone.
  13. I think an extra 80 mil would mess with the rays way of doing things and they would turn into a team that overpays for veterans and holds onto guys too long rather than smartly trading them at their peak...I think they'd be us.
  14. But, yeah....I have no idea if he can play 2nd.
  15. He'd be good to have at second for the inevitable month that Reyes is injured, we could slide him over to short for that period.
  16. Another player who has yet to see a full slate of bidders, according to Olney, is another Boston free agent: shortstop Stephen Drew. Olney says that he believes Drew's decision to reject the club's $14.1MM qualifying offer was a mistake. He reasons that it is looking worse by the day, with the Cardinals now out of the market and the Mets seemingly hesitant to give up a pick to sign him at that level of value. I wonder if we could get him for 1 yr @ 10 mil for second base?
  17. Dude, be smart and take the job...finish the degree some other time or do evening courses or something.
  18. There is no way Sanchez or stroman are involved. Please, for f*** sakes, don't betray me Alex! I still have faith....
  19. Very true, but the off season isn't over yet. I'm one of the very few remaining who still believes in AA.
  20. I agree with you. Last year was a disaster, but who knows what this year holds. If we suck again, unload talent in a big way at the trade deadline though.
  21. That's a nice lookin site. Well done! Only read the Bautista article so far and it was very interesting.
  22. Off the top of my head, the only short stops I'd want over Reyes are: Tulo, Hanley, Simmons, segura play short?, bogarts most likely (however that's spelt).... There must be more? Who am I missing? Machado if he could handle the move...... Plus I'm sure there are a few rookies ready to step in I'm not even thinking of.
  23. Ahhhhh, forgot about him. Goins/izturis double play combo!
