Excuse me lol I've done some stupid s*** during high school days but I'm not stupid to the point that at a public event with cameras everywhere and 4 million people watching I do something and run away. If a person gets clocked for doing something simple like rolling at a stop sign, and the police puts on their sirens and you decide, instead of facing potential consequence to run, and you get a worse penalty that's on you.
All I'm saying is if you're at a point where you're easily identifiable by law enforcement don't run, especially for something stupid like that, don't make it a big deal. What the person probably would get is a ban from the RC and a minor fine. Now instead he gets the internet ruining their life.
If your point is that the internet took it too far then yes I agree, but this is exactly what happened too when Twitter and Reddit decided to play detective and 'catch' the boston bomber. When you don't turn yourself in, law enforcement will play the "plead to the media" game and ruin lots of people in the process to get the guy. If anything what that person did was stupid and selfish.
^^ Exactly. I hate the mob mentality but that's how life is now unfortunately. Also I personally don't even think he needs to pay for his actions, but the Toronto Police do and that's what matters and that's my point. If the police are gonna search for you they'll find you and if you make it hard for them they'll make it worse in the process, he shoulda just made it easy for himself and turned himself in lol
