  1. I want to say good job for not touching Davis or Penticost but.... I have no idea who he is. Anyone know anything about him? King?
  2. Don't remind me Sure but keep him as far away from the lead off spot as possible!!! How's the lineup gonna look guys? Bautista Donaldson Edwin Saunders Tulo Martin Upton Pillar Travis ?
  3. Hey I have a good question for you guys. we all keep talking about Bautista to DH and Upton to the OF.... Why not put Saunders as a DH instead? Saunders looks so fragile when he chases balls down and tbh he's below average as a fielder. I think Bautista stays in the OF and Saunders DHs
  4. Why we have an 8 man pen, just option Tepera and roll with a normal 4 man bench
  5. What? Have you seen Clippard? ERA and xFIP 4+ and he's owed 12m over 2 years
  6. Wait derp we have a 3 man bench and an 8 man pen, Teperia probably going down giving us a bench of Thole/Barney/Carerra/Upton
  7. I'm interested to see who comes off the 25 man after this trade... Smoak/Barney/Thole/Carerra is the bench no? Does Carerra have options?
  8. Exactly, not the first time the FO will trade a guy to get cash relief to balance out the budget, and depending on how much we pay Upton well.. Sure! Who is he anyways lmao
  9. That's what the one day hold up was for
  10. Whew!!!!! Hopefully not Pentecost but the hold up sounds like it could be him. Isn't Ryan Foley down there too? You guys don't understand I woke up thinking we traded Alford for Upton
  11. Class A prospect? Oh f*** off what happened to not pillaging the farm system?? Edit: Wait is it an A prospect or is it class A as in he plays in Dunedin?
  12. The only reason I can see is that it's a 40 man roster issue.... But then again they can just DFA Teperia off the 40 man. Maybe they know about him and they want to move a piece like Shultz or something at the deadline before making changes to the 40 man? I can't think of anything else
  13. Would the argument change if Upton at full salary lowers the prospect asking price for a pitching arm included in the deal? Like if we're gunning for a Tyson Ross and instead of a B prospect we give up a c prospect (for example) if we take on Upton at full salary? Obviously this is all hypothetical and I'm jumping a lot of steps but if salary lowers prospect capital in the trade would you do it?
  14. No way you can replace Sanchez quality. His replacement is currently pitching in AAA so all we need is 2 BP prices and a bench player. Starters are fine, especially if one of the starters is a Cashner or a Ross, someone that has started before. That way if we have an injury we can summon them or Chavez for spot starts.
  15. I don't think Upton's the Center of the trade; he's likely going to be the salary dump that will only cost a c prospect in the deal. I think we're dealing more for a Cashner or a Ross type of pitcher as the focus of the trade to sure up the pen and possibly give us insurance when Sanchez goes to the pen and Hutch becomes the #5
  16. I kept hearing it on the Fan590 by Wilner and Brunt and co throughout the season since maybe April/May
  17. His ERA is around 0.6 in save opportunities. It's when he's in those non-save situation he loses that adrenalin or something... same was the case for Mariano no? s*** in non save situations vs. Save situations No but he looks like he took a step back!!!!
  18. Why do people keep saying this? Even if he does find his form, all that says is that a change of scenery is what he needed. I feel like ever since the end of spring training I keep hearing about how he doesn't like it here in Toronto. If he lands in a place he likes and pitches well doesn't mean he would have pitch well here. He wasn't a fit here, move on
  19. He posted a snapchat in Toronto today so he's already back
  20. They key word here is track record. This is Sanchez' best season control-wise in his professional (minors included) career. Sale's proven to be dominant here.
  21. I'm gonna agree with Org's assessment here. The BP has been around average overall, but in high leverage situations we suck. I see lots of people here post things like "X should get a clean inning"... Well relievers jobs are supposed to provide relief for the pitcher going out. Obviously I'm not talking about bases loaded and 0 or 1 out but I'm saying even in 2 outs with RISP our BP (notably Chavez and Storen) fail to get the first batter or two out which is unacceptable.
