    Here's a counter argument -- Upton in LF, EE at 1B and Saunders DHing provides more overall value (defense, offence and speed) than starting Smoak --- regardless of who's pitching righty or lefty, true or false? I think the decision has less to do with Smoak and more to do with not wanting EE to be hurt at 1B

    If we get a guy like hill then we should try piggybacking Sanchez and Dickey. Let Sanchez take 4 innings and Dickey go the rest of the way. I'm not convinced that the BP will be less stress on his arm and I'm not convinced that letting him throw 200 innings will be good for him either. So keep him at the regular rotation just limit his innings. This way we may actually see the Dickey effect for once lol
