  1. I agree. I wish Alex would go back to moving these fringe guys for useful pieces. I guess those days of working hard to make smart trades are gone when now you can empty the farm for stable mediocrity.
  2. And you don't have to spend all the money, just spend some of it more efficiently.
  3. Graveman's the next Nestor Molina
  4. I have the last 4 BA Handbooks (2011-2014). When I go through and read reports on guys as each new book comes out you see a gradual refinement and a more accurate report compared to the initial expectations these kids get tagged with.
  5. Here's the BA Blurb on him from the 2014 Handbook: "The 6'5" Castro is a physical specimen with one of the most projectable bodies in the minors, and has the potential to be a front-half of the rotation starter. He has a lean, wiry build, a tapered waist and long limbs. He threw 91-92mph before signing, and last year sat 93-96 and touched 99. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot and gets above average sink. His long stride and long arms give him good extension, and the ball explodes out of his hand. His velocity, sink angle and release distance should make him tough on right handed hitters. His arm slot allows him to turn over a change up with above-average potential, and he has a developing slider with sweepy action and pronounced lateral tilt. Increased weight and strength have helped his body control and strike-throwing ability and will continue to be a priority for his development for the lithe Castro."
  6. What's the incomplete info?
  7. Wouldn't Francisco help us in the future when it's time to cut ties with an overpaid, old, broken Adam Lind? Buy Lind out, move on and save a few mil for another target. And yes, the prospects would also be a major determinant whether the trade was worth it.
  8. Unless you don't mind buying a knock off at a fraction of the price.
  9. You'd think with all the questions about his size and not being able to get enough downward plane on his fastball he would've worked on a sinker or splitter from the get-go.
  10. I've been making cracks about Dickey's run-in shortly after the trade with the Mets broke.
  11. No, but he was stuffed greatly.
  12. That's like finding a mint T-206 Wagner
  13. Dumb. If you're going to kill someone, you do it alone.
  14. "Morrow remains a tantalizing wild card for the Blue Jays with the potential to provide a significant boost to the rotation or bullpen, or not return at all. To this point there have been no setbacks, even if his possible return may be taking a bit longer than expected." Hopefully the FO doesn't use a possible Morrow return as an excuse to not upgrade somewhere around the diamond or on the mound.
  15. I wonder if someone looked into it where a new GM is hired by any team in baseball and strips a team down if the first draft he's responsible if the preference is to take a college kid over HS to get/show a quick return.
  16. It's amazing how the talking heads ignored the fact we were sending out 3rd tier/BU catchers & 2B in both years, had a poor bench, a non-playoff type rotation and a lightening in a bottle, scratched together 'pen. I'd rather come to my own conclusions, before what I accept from analysts as gospel.
  17. They're almost real.
  18. I wasn't a fan of this team contending for anything other than a WC in either year. It's not like the rotation, or 'pen are special. And the lineup has had holes at critically important positions, yet people continue to believe. It's sickening.
  19. Sadly both years gaping holes were overlooked by the fans and expectations were way too high.
  20. Exactly. Anyone who thought a AAA lineup and 2nd tier rotation was gonna keep this team above .500 is f***ing dreaming.
  21. It's a shame its such a s*** sport.
  22. I'd rather have Hutch than paying Buehrle 18m or whatever stupid amount he's making.
  23. I was gonna say if we deal for Cliff Lee, he'll drop past Amaro. I guess you already have him at the bottom.
  24. I'll wait on his numbers when he's in an age relative environment.
  25. What's wrong with that?
