    IMO, when the Jays were fully healthy, the roster I saw didn't scream playoffs or contenders. Now they could've been good enough to fluke their way in, but who really wants their team to fluke their way to anything.

    Well it appears you & I are on the same page up to this point, except I was looking for a re-tool since the end of the 2010 season. I'm not a fan of ever selling out big chunks of the future for a short chance at making the playoffs or WS run. You're giving me your opinion which means shite. I use to think Alex was a great GM, he has glaring weaknesses now and is merely an average GM. If he gave me his opinion I'd be like....okay. Not lost on me at all. I didn't buy into any of the hype post Marlins & Dickey trade, pre-2013 season. The team was a slightly better than average team on paper.

    My comment was in response to a comment about the team since the deadline. And since the deadline the lineups have been s*** because of injuries.

    I like watching young players over mediocre vets more than anyone. But moving Norris, Sanchez & Pompey to the majors this quick screams desperation.

    If the time he spent in AA and the little time he spends in AAA leads to an OD roster spot in 2015, it's a panic/desperation/PR move.

    I see it as a rush if Pompey is our Opening Day LF in 2015. Until then, a 2 week promotion to Buffalo and maybe a September call-up isn't hurting anything.

    Unfortunately the Jays aren't as committed financially as a bunch of other teams, so a move like this would set us back. Eg. I'd rather keep Stroman and throw a 7/140m contract at Maeda, than trade Stroman for a guy making 15-20m per. You see what you have there? Two assets making similar money to one.
