  1. Aw, you're cute sticking up for the little guy. So if someone irritates/pisses me off with something they do or say, I should just let it slide? Sorry that's not me, never has been and never will be. Essentially you poke holes in others arguments without putting your own opinions out there. I don't keep standings to determine who the better fan is. I just prefer not to have to listen to casual or non baseball fans talk about the game. I don't even care to converse with friends, peers or family about baseball who are casual/non-fans. I'm anti-social and don't care to dredge up Baseball 101 talk with friends or strangers. And when I travel to games I'll talk to the odd seasoned usher about the team, city, park etc....But I'm not sitting there watching the game needing to talk to or high-five surrounding fans to feel like I'm helping someone or a needing to feel that the games one big party. I'd prefer to be left alone. Dedicated and more knowledgable, very possible. There's things in baseball that don't interest me and I don't care to learn about because it doesn't serve any personnel need or purpose. And there's tons of very knowledgeable fans out there.
  2. I can only remember one time when I wasn't rushed to get home for anything while at a game and thought, when is this gonna be over. April 16th 2008 vs. Texas. The game went 14 innings.
  3. He obviously has a bone to pick, because he isn't trashing others for making silly suggestions. Not a big deal, disrupting people's lives and irritating people is fun for me as well. I just hate hide-outs.
  4. I'll take Lee. But the Phills have to pay his entire contract and ask for something less than Marcus Knecht as a return.
  5. And I hold Victor Sanchez in a higher regard than Sanchez & Norris.
  6. I wish people had stuck to their account names from the old forum.
  7. So essentially the old stadium was supposed to look like Progressive Field and the new one Target Field. I hope the architects deciding this aren't part of the Montreal push, because the creativity in the design is a hack job at best.
  8. No one player or hypothetical trade suggested on here means anything. Cliff Lee, Prado, Headley, Scott VanSlyke, Ian Kennedy, it's all just speculation. Me personally I'd rather pay a little more in trade to nab a younger piece who'll be here longer than 2 months, or 8 months dependent on their contract. Take Prado or Chase Headley for example. The D-Backs or Pads could eat some of their contracts and we'd still be giving up a good prospect. They're not looking to bring back a s*** prospect, just because we're saving them some money. So instead of giving up a good prospect for a short term fix, give up a better prospect for a short & long term solution.
  9. But the projections....and Cliff Lee and that reasonable contract and now and don't worry and gonna get raped by Amaro and who cares.
  10. I may start spamming the forum with more dumb trades to get myself banned. I miss the good ol' days when people got upset.
  11. I was wrong. Let's make that trade for Cliff Lee. 25m per over multiple years for a banged up, mid 30's pitcher. I'm down for that.
  12. As much as never, ever, ever extend them when their contracts are up.
  13. Kev, who would say no to this deal? Encarnacion or Bautista to the Mariners for Nick Franklin, Dustin Ackley, Victor Sanchez, Tyler Pike & Dominic Leone? We address 2B with Franklin, we get an upgrade in LF defensively with Ackley and maybe a change of location opens his offensive game up, two young SP's in the high minors & a hard throwing back of the pen arm.
  14. If we can reference the past, Sosa comes to mind.
  15. I could go with him coming up for a spot start or a couple relief appearances to get his feet wet. But that's it.
  16. I'd rather not rush him and see if he can break camp in 2016.
  17. That's true. But when the collective group of 25 was never good enough to contend, you can't keep trotting the same older and older teams out and expect to win.
  18. If they signed Aoki & Cruz, who plays CF? And why would the Jays wanna unload and overpay huge on Cruz and his career year?
  19. 2/20 or 3/10 I like the extra year(s) at lesser money than him accepting a 14m QO. And I'd prefer the intention be to move him during the deal. He's not someone I want here for the whole deal.
  20. The Jays FO should be throwing out feeler offers right now, like 2 @ 20. I'd rather that for Melky than him accepting a 14m qualifying offer. If he accepts the 2 @ 20 we get a solid LF on a very reasonable contract, with a nice option of moving him in trade for other useful pieces in the midst of the deal. If he rejects the offer you QO him seeing as he's kinda showed his intentions of maybe wanting more money, more years.....or to get out of Toronto.
