  1. Fangraphs indicates they are quite comparable defensively. Virtually the same player on the field and at the plate IMO
  2. This isn't a comparison of skill/talent between the two. Its a question who do you keep? There are several considerations to answer the question, not just who is better at this point in time. Norris is clearly the better and more polished at this point, and is MLB ready or close to it. He has much more value in trade. Norris alone may bring the SP the Jays need to be true contenders for a WS. If Hoffman is the one traded, supplementary pieces will be needed. Norris is likely to level off as a mid rotation starter, IMO. Hoffman, who knows, too early after TJS to say. It's just my opinion, but i'd move the guy with more trade value and more certainty on potential, and keep the lower tier guy with less trade value and more uncertainty in terms of ceiling/floor. Your opinion may be the reverse and has just as much merit, no reason to insult those opinions you disagree with.
  3. yes probably.... problem?
  4. thats not what i said if all you are going to do is insult other posters, its you that needs a time out
  5. Little doubt Goins is elite defensively. Where he ranks who knows, but apparently there's a stat for that. What is not in question is you can be an ass.
  6. Delabar is looking like a pitching key.... if he keeps this up it takes a lot of pressure off osuna and cecil.... and bring the bullpen to a level where the focus can be solely on obtaining SP help
  7. didnt say anything about hoffman.... it's too early to know, he could be great, he could bust, or somewhere in between norris also has a much higher trade value all things considered i'd move norris before hoff
  8. cant help but wonder what Smoak would do with regular playing time can see him finally realizing his potential in the RC bandbox
  9. feel sorry for the kid.... not a team you want to debut a pitcher against
  10. isnt he like 1.5 WAR? nothing wrong with that is there
  11. based simply on stuff.... there's nothing dominating about it.... unless he can compensate with above average command and control he's no more than a mid rotation guy... so far the command and control is below average
  12. went with Hoffman.... from what I have seen of Norris so far, hard to see him being more than a mid rotation guy
  13. thats a 6-8 week recovery time?
  14. Pillar, Goins, DSJ, Smoral, SRF, DJ Davis, Boyd, and EE (!) are guys I would have no plm moving for pitching
  15. Sanchez is going to hit his pitching limit, if he doesn't get TJS first.
  16. The Jays bats are hot, the starting pitching has stabilized, and the 'pen has been bolstered by Delabar. Less opportunity for Gibby f***ups.
  17. Similar lines to Sanchez last year
  18. Hope so, the alternative is they regress, and with this pitching staff.....
  19. when there are not takers for his ridiculous ask, he will lower it (unless he is dumb as a brick) economics 101
  20. Normally, but normal doesn't apply to Amaro
  21. No reason for Amaro not to ask for a lot, still plenty of time before the deadline. The price will come down Also, if the Jays trade for an SP it has to be a front of the rotation type.... otherwise, not much improvement, just more depth
  22. so if he leaves after this year, Jays will have traded 3 studs for a couple of mediocre seasons never has so little been gained for so much
  23. That's only part of it. He's also 22, plenty of time to add deception to the change up and improve the slider to go with the ++ fastball and + curve. As for control, he's not falling off the mound Drabek. He has a much more controlled delivery and actually quickly gets into position as evidenced by some good defensive plays.
  24. RC is pretty s***** for watching baseball... way better and cheaper to watch at home, plus can surf the net and BJMB at leisure same time also, rogers gets considerable revenue from sales other than tix
