The Marlins and Mets trades were completely opposite to AA's MO up to that point. It's certainly possible he was being directed, and that's not an uncommon opinion.
Also, stop being an ******* in responding to my posts.
If Beeston directed AA on the Marlins and Mets trades, does that change your opinion of AA?
He's negotiated good contracts, drafted well, generally made good trades with some bad ones thrown in, about to sign the No. 2 IFA..... and two clusterf***s in Marlins and Mets deals. Disregard the clusterf***s and he's been a good GM overall.
Well dopey smokey, that wasn't my point. The question is whether AA deserves to stay on as GM. I was simply pointing out that AA has built a good team that is not reflected in the W-L record. He has built the best offense by far, a reasonably good bullpen, and a starting rotation that while weak overall, has really suffered from the late and unexpected loss of Stroman.
But of course, you being the person you are, you make a response typical of an *******.
So.... I went from far sighted to needing bifocals around that age. Lots of people lose eyesight during their 30's. Its just one of many possibilities for EE's pitch recognition/plate discipline issues.
none are elite individually although a case can be made for osuna and sanchez is he performs like last year out of the 'pen. cecil is an elite reliever when he is on, have not seen it yet this year. but this would be a very deep 'pen. would have no plm using any of the 7 in high leverage situations.
The ideal scenario is a trade for a SP, promote Norris, and move Sanchez and Estrada to the 'pen. Improves the SP and a bullpen of Cecil, Osuna, Loup, Sanchez, Hendriks, Delabar, and Estrada is elite.
His plate discipline/pitch recognition has nosedived. He's played through injuries the last few years and put up good numbers. Who knows, at his age eyesight can start to deteriorate. Hoping for a big 2nd half from EE.
No they aren't similar at all. One has above average command, the other has poor command. In terms of quality of arsenal they are similar. But command is the most important skill for a pitcher.
Of course. I take issue with your use of 'objective' in evaluating MiLB stats. It's just not possible, particularly in the case of Hoffman. You can evaluate Hoffman's stats all you want.... but it would be useless.
Boyd is top 25 in MiLB if you go by stats.
Oh come on. The same guys pumping Snider based on his MiLB #'s are the same ones that said Yan who? Objective evaluation of MiLB stats is a fools errand.
I said its a possibility, and there are many other possibilities. None of us know what is going on, and what Hoffman is working on as he develops.
MiLB stats are misleading for a guy coming back from TJS. You can throw Hoffman's 2015 stats out the window.
