  1. A lot of the above posts are hindsight. There were quite a few good posters that didn't want JD moved after 2017 season, or Pillar moved whenever, etc. With JD maybe Shatkins thought he could be extended and fit within what they initially anticipated to be a short retool/rebuild. Would have preferred an aggressive rebuild after 2017 at the latest but then none of us need worry about the bottom line as Shatkins does.
  2. SWR dominating A+ a few games and everyone will shut the f*** up. Jays got the best prospect of any deadline deal, by far. Logan Allen is s***.
  3. Suspect this is ******** / sour grapes. Jays and Twinkies were likely having semi-daily communications for weeks. Whatever happened, I am sure the Twinkies are just as much to blame as the Jays, or more, or less.
  4. Dodgers for me, especially if Dustin May is good, as expected
  5. Gingergaard making his MLB debut Friday
  6. f***ing pisses me off, but I agree with Boxbaby
  7. We will see. I expect it will start this offseason. Vlad, Bichette, Biggio and the others are only under team control for so long.
  8. Been discussed already, fully expect the Jays to be active in the free agent market this offseason. A lot of budget room and the team needs to progress from 2019.
  9. That is low. BABIP averages around .305 IIRC, but with Fisher's 70 grade speed he should be higher than that. That would increase his 2019 wRC+ of 86 to approx. 100
  10. Fisher has more power but very similar skillsets. Tommy Pham comes to mind as the type of ceiling a non-concussion Pompey and Fisher have. Fun fact - Pompey was Baseball America #30 in 2014 The 17-year-old Pompey was one of the youngest players in the 2010 draft and signed for $150,000. He had something of a storybook season in 2014, playing at four different levels and reaching the major leagues. A plus athlete, Pompey is a premium defender. His gap-closing defense has drawn plus-plus grades from scouts. He offers an above-average arm that could play in right field. His speed is at least plus and is capable of the occasional plusplus time out of the box. He is a smart, efficient basestealer who can impact games on the bases. The switch-hitter could become an above-average hitter who draws walks at an above-average clip throughout his career while producing above-average contact rates. His quick-twitch athleticism translates to the batter's box with natural whip and bat speed. He will likely hit 10-15 home runs annually with lots of extra-base hits. Pompey's defensive and baserunning prowess gives him a high floor and the development of his bat could give him a well-rounded skill set capable of contributing in nearly every phase of the game.
  11. His bat this year would be average with a normal BABIP. And he is fine defensively. Brings plenty of speed. And only 25. He very well could turn into an above average MLB'er as soon as next season.
  12. Fisher looks like a potential 20/20 guy over a full season, still just 25. Too much to give up for him though. Seems to me the FO has certain players as targets and willing to overpay to get them.
  13. Weird to sell then? Must not like what you see in the rear view mirror.
  14. Edwin Diaz gonna implode again?
  15. first the Mets, now the Reds..... weird moves
  16. Damn that's bad, but not as bad as the s*** the crook who never read is book is doing.
  17. Yep, they traded for stroman to go for it, didn't they
  18. Nobody is saying its a fantastic deal.
  19. Receny Jays history the two big clusterf***s are the dickey trade and holding onto JD too long
  20. Debate all you want. The great Branch Rickey "Better to trade a guy a year too early than a year too late." Stroman injury or suckage in addition to the loss of service time, is always possible. No brainer to move him now assuming his demands were unreasonable, probable given his douchebaggery and his douchebag agent.
  21. Same.... damn. Losing Glasnow and Taillon was s*****.
  22. You have no idea what the market was like. The Mets package may well have been clearly superior to anything else offered. Overall, I am fine with where Shatkins is taking the club. The future looks good.
  23. fully expect sogard to suck balls in 2020
  24. Stroman was a douchebag when AA was GM, also
  25. Fireable offence.
