  1. Alcantara will be back as an ace pitcher in 2026.
  2. I'm undefeated in battle. Next season will prove me right, yet again.
  3. Im a click bait artist, at least give me that
  4. Thats a payroll approaching or exceeding $290M. Who knows, maybe that's the approved budget. I think it highly unlikely. We all knew when Vlad and Bo hit free agency keeping the core together would be financially difficult. There's a non zero chance the FO has already decided they cant afford Bo, and will roll with a Vlad, Clement, Gimenez, Barger infield.
  5. What? Sure they could sign all that, but they won't. It's a business, and Rogers has given Shatkins budget parameters. And what you suggest isn't happening.
  6. So he should be cheaper to get than I thought
  7. Gotta give up something to get something. Maybe the Jays have the prospect pieces to get Alcantara. If so Im all for it
  8. Alcantara $11.7M AAV. Relatively cheap.
  9. So then don't sign Bo? Signing Bo and a free agent SP and closer very unlikely.
  10. Yeah and right now the starting ptching has little depth, meat. Bo, Gimenez, Schneider, with Jimenez in Buffalo, plus whatever replacement level MIF the Jays sign as additional depth is fine. Right now Berrios and Lauer are #4 and #5, with very little depth behind them. FO has already said they are exploring the trade market, meat.
  11. If Bo is resigned per my original post, then Jays have room to trade from their IF group. Smart teams have no untouchables.
  12. Horrible idea
  13. "He's barely better than Bo Bichette" was dumn They are about $80M apart lol
  14. I've looked at 3 top 500 lists. Tucker top 20, Bichette around 100. Bo WAR last 5 years - 4.9, 4.8, 3.9, 0.3, 3.8 Tucker - 4.9, 4.9 4.9, 4.2, 4.5 You should probably stop this narrative now
  15. Deserves its own thread
  16. No legit baseball person will agree with this
  17. Barger probably isn't in MLB without the privileged upbringing. So yeah, the phrasing is silly.
  18. Maybe he'll take a bit less like $28M AAV to stay with Vlad and the Jays, but player's taking discounts doesn't happen that often We will know his market value soon enough
  19. See my edit - 11/$360M or $32.7M AAV
  20. Just used the BA estimate. Tucker is like $40M AAV edit - Tucker is est. at 11/$360M so I was off by a bunch I'm going with the assumption none of us are better than the BA folks at these things.
  21. Steamer has Alcantara at 2.5 WAR, Clement at 1.6 My plan includes signing Bo. Not really a lateral move, its trading from an area of strength to improve an area of weakness.
  22. Crazy some of you want to keep Clement over a guy like Alcantara. Either overrate Clement or underrate Alcantara or both. Or emotional attachment. Alcantara is the type of SP the Jays rotation needs.
  23. I like this overall, but SP is weak
  24. Horrible plan
  25. Why would the Marlins want Berrios? They've got 3 or 4 elite pitching prospects, a couple very close to MLB
