  1. This started with respect to the rumours of the Brewers trading Peralta a year before he hits free agency. Y'all know that signing pitchers long term is a very risky proposition. For a small market team, a bad contract will be a huge anchor. Not so concerning for the Dodgers. Of course they are kicking tires on trading Peralta. It's just smart business for a small market team. The Rays, the Marlins, the Pirates, etc all do the same. ROI for a small market team is maxed by drafting, scouting, development. The Brewers and Rays just do it best.
  2. A huge leap.
  3. So you interpreted something that isn't there
  4. Where did i say they aren't?
  5. Meh. It's a business, and the market dictates payroll. Not many will run a baseball team at a loss. Is there someone out there that is such a fan of the Brewers that they will (1) buy the team by making an offer the current owner cannot refuse, and (2) increase payroll at the expense of personal wealth. If there is, the Brewers would have been sold yesterday. Most of my posts are flippant, tongue in cheek, trolling, or just spitballing.
  6. 3 big fish that time! Prospect porn.... 🤪
  7. I dunno who's better
  8. Up there with the Guards and Rays for drafting, recruiting, and development. I wouldnt mind at all, i get off on prospect porn
  9. the biomech / health side of things and the driveline / pitch design side are likely in tension. An arm can only handle so much additional and new stress before it breaks. Maybe someone more clued in to this on here can weigh in on whether some teams are more cautious than others with the driveline stuff, for health reasons specifically
  10. Great stuff. Is your name Tom Tango by chance? He has visited this board on 3 or 4 occasions.
  11. Varland has an option remaining. Would it be bad for him to start in Buffalo and be first guy up when needed?
  12. Toronto was 4th in defensive runs saved in 2025. That should make up for the park change. Cease was unlucky in 2025 (.320 BABIP against vs. .295 career) and gave up an outlier # of HR. That statistical noise should self correct on its own and let's hope Pete can unlock more effectiveness.
  13. Nah this FO is strategic and one of the best in MLB at finding market inefficiencies. That being the case, there are a few more surprises in store for this offseason. The obvious move is to re-sign Bo, but the more likely move is something better that none of us have thought of.
  14. Shouldn't be necessary. Gausman, Bieber, and Berrios have close to neutral splits. Yesavage has reverse splits. Lefties do better against Cease. It's actually a very well balanced rotation.
  15. Doesn't need to pass a physical to sign
  16. Just s*** luck for the Angels. Ohtani might still be an Angel if it wasn't for that shitbag. I'm sure Rendon is going to drive a hard bargain on a buyout, too
  17. Or they are $20M apart and the Cease signing just closed a large part of that gap.
  18. Bo hasn't won a WS. Tucker has. If Bo really desires a WS and I'm sure he does, his interest in resigning with Jays just went up big time.
  19. San Diego is a pitchers park. His fielding independent metrics worse away from San Diego. But the Jays superior defense and offense assuming one of Bo, Tucker, or Belly is signed will mean plenty of W's.
  20. Interesting timing, so quick after the season and before the gm meetings. Got to wonder if part of this is to give Bo even more incentive to return.
  21. Get a closer. Can't have a rotation this good only to watch the bullpen blow games.
  22. Holy s***...... Jays arent f***ing around
  23. Jake Cook has above average tools across the board, with the exception of power (30 grade). But at 6'3" and 185 lbs could grow into 15 HR power.
