Sanchez seemed to have been affected by throwing a lot of pitches in the top of the 3rd and not having had a lot of time to rest during the bottom of the inning.
I told my son he would struggle after Donaldson, Bautista and EE were out so quickly.
Team will get it going, you watch. I guess I could say "Red Sox are 12-14" with a higher payroll and just as bad a rotation which hasn't had an injury yet, unless I'm mistaken.
Anyway...
Raysjays, you need to calm down. People bitching and moaning in this thread about Jays's SP depth were mostly fine with dealing away SP depth to acquire Donaldson and Saunders.
The point is that if they had kept Graveman, Nolin and Happ, SP depth would be pretty decent.
It's probably just me, but is Hutchison throwing all his pitches earlier in the game than I remember? I wonder if there's somewhere to find this information.
It seems he's throwing too many of his secondary pitches, again, "it seems" so take it with a grain or 2 of salt.
It might be because he's working on a pitch with a certain coach or it might be because the F/O won't mind calling him up straight from AA. It might be because of something else. It might just be one of those things. Or they might promote him when he's doing poorly. Or it might be after they see him struggle a bit and see him rebound from it.
It was a legit question because of how aggressive they've been with some of the other 'spects lately and Boyd's a college draftee, sort of like Graveman.
Anyway, it might be time to move on.
I'd rather fire the F/O than allow them to trade more pieces for pitching. AA has used up enough assets to acquire pitching when he traded for Buehrle, JJ and Dickey. He just happened to misfire.
And if this organization wasn't planning on extending their GM long-term, why not just make the move in the off season?
Seems like bad planning.
Maybe he threw too many innings last year? Who knows, but I trust JFaS and his projections system so I think the SP will stabilize. The bullpen could be improved by calling up guys like Delabar, Hynes, Schultz, Guilmet and West, oh wait...
Dude, it's not true that half the forum saw it coming a mile away, not this bad. No one saw Hutchison pitching this poorly.
Anyway, we'll see what happens.
