  1. According to Buck, Encarnacion is going to the mound in the 9th.
  2. Reyes needs to improve his OBP from last season. If Travis maintains a .350 obp, just keep him there.
  3. Yeah, but I somehow doubt she's eager to help out the Blue Jays in anyway after they made her son play on a fractured foot.
  4. Has he even undergone an MRI or are they waiting for his mom to tell him to get one?
  5. Reyes didn't want to and what Reyes wants, Reyes does.
  6. DL him too and call up Alford.
  7. Richard Urena is injured or what?
  8. I guess they should've dl'ed him from the get-go, he might've been back by now.
  9. Innings pitched: Cecil 5, Osuna 10.1, Castro 9.2. Who would you have more faith in, your proven relievers or 2 rookies who haven't even pitched a full season at the single A level?
  10. It must also not sit well with the players to stick with Castro after demoting Cecil after 1 blown save. So it begs the question: is this ship sinking?
  11. Whichever team hires AA.
  12. Gibbons said something different after Saturday's game. His putting Castro in the 9th tonight shows us he meant what he said. Now, if he was trying to prove a point by putting Castro into a tight game, then I have to think most players don't appreciate it.
  13. He was averaging 97.something, but I have seen a decrease in velo. In terms of whether he should or shouldn't be throwing that all the time, the point was that he's not used to throwing every other day as he's been a starter up to this year. He's also 20 and should be developing in Dunedin, building up his trade value so AA could trade him in a package for another Josh Donaldson type. Plus, he grew up eating 1.5 meals a day in Mexico....Ang told me.
  14. And Betances pitched at each minor league level. What's worse is the media eating it up like pablum or whatever that s*** is called.
  15. There are quotes from Gibby as recently as following Saturday's game that prove that Gibbons thinks Castro is "damn good". He also didn't need to bring Castro in tonight. He also shouldn't have asked Pillar and then Pompey to bunt tonight. He also should've pinch hit for Reyes with a man on 3rd and 1 out.
  16. I've seen fewer and fewer 97MPH fastballs from Castro lately. Not that he was great before, but he's not used to being used this much. I wonder if AA and Gibbons still think he's Betances 2.0.
  17. Castro needs to be sent down to extended ST to get stretched out and then to Dunedin.
  18. Gibbons seems to have been trying to prove a point tonight by using Castro. Anyway, let's not beat a dead horse. I think they're likely unwilling to admit a mistake right now, but if they do decide to do the right thing, they might want to get Castro into a low pressure situation to try and send him down on a high note. On the other hand, if he struggles....lol, sort of a catch 22 situation here.
  19. Gibbons has been heavily involved in 2 of the last 3 losses. Tonight, he bunted up by 3 with 2 on and 0 outs, not only once, but twice! The 2nd time, he knew Reyes would follow Pompey so even if Pompey got the bunt down, Reyes was unlikely to drive the runner home as he doesn't look good at all hitting right handed versus rhp. Reyes should've been pinch-hit for with a runner at 3rd and 1 out in the 7th (I think). I wonder if he still thinks that "Castro's been damn good". Now, in fairness, Reyes is playing because he doesn't want to go on the DL and the team doesn't have the guts to force him to.
