  1. Donaldson says: f*** You , Suck Osuna's Cojones.
  2. Bloop wasn't catchable but he came in on the ball tentatively, sort of afraid of the turf, and it bounced again allowing Andrus to get to 2B. If you see the bounce, it sliced to the side so if he had tried to cut it off after the first bounce, it would've likely gotten away from him and may have been a 3B. Depends who you ask though.
  3. Did you miss the bad hop on the first bounce? It was also high and could've bounced over his head if he had charged it harder.
  4. If he had charged that blooper to try and cut off the ball off the first bounce, it would've bounced away from him any way. Freakin' turf!
  5. JD is under team control for 3 1/2 more years, barring an extension. I'm fine with improving the SP, I'm just not willing to say they must, at any cost. If they made another JD trade, except for a pitcher, I doubt I'd be against it, I'd just have to look at who is involved.
  6. Excuse my stupidity, but I don't understand this point?
  7. This is my take as well. Team is close to having some good depth at AAA with young controllable guys. Who knows, nothing may happen anyway.
  8. It's different than the Marlins trade in the position they're at, as a team, I just don't like the idea that you have to do anything to go for it now because you have EE and Bautista. Anyway, I will still judge any trades in terms of value and the long term health of the franchise which is why I was against the Marlins and Dickey trades. No biggie, just a small disagreement.
  9. Thing is, time to trade him would've been after last off season after a full season as a starting catcher and the team would've had plenty of time to find a backup C. Right now, it's a matter of who would want him for 1/2 a season at 2.5M.
  10. f***ing AA...not only forcing super Gibby to play Navarro, but to hit him 5th to boot!
  11. Now, that's real accounting.
  12. If you mean before this F/O, yes, agreed. They made the Marlins trade in part to try and speed up the timetable to compete with Bautista and EE, imo. They may also have made it to avoid going into 2013 expected to lose 90-100 games which would've impacted attendance and tv ratings the wrong way. And yes, had the Marlins trade not been made, they would have more cheap controllable talent and likely top 5 draft picks for 2014 and 2015. And they would likely not have made the Dickey trade. Amazing that AA, isn't he? Emptied the farm and replenished it 2 times in 6 years! It doesn't mean we have to agree with it no matter what. It depends on what they give up and for what player.
  13. I brought up the sustainable approach as a personal preference regardless of whether they are close or not. I also prefer that if they're gonna empty the farm, they do it for younger guys. Again it's a personal preference. The F/O abandoned that approach when they made the Marlins trade. Anyway, we'll see what they end up doing, if anything.
  14. As I said, I understand the desire to win now, but would prefer a sustainable winner. I never said I'm against improving the rotation, but if they do, I hope they target a good young pitcher not a guy over 30. We'll see what happens.
  15. Also, if Jays are trading away guys like Norris, Pompey and Hoffman, I want a good young starter back, not a guy over 30.
  16. I see what you're saying but this reasoning seems a lot like the one used to rationalize the Marlins trade, what with windows and all. I prefer a sustainable winner, but do understand the desire to win now, not to mention maintaining good tv ratings and decent attendance which is why I've been open-minded towards the team for the Marlins trade despite strongly disagreeing with it.
  17. I would guess Hamels would ask for Toronto to pick up his option to waive his no-trade clause. Also, where's that Blue Jays payroll thread at? It would come in handy right about to see how Hamels's deal would impact payroll.
  18. Don't feel too down on team, last time the team was shut out, they went on to win 11 in a row...
  19. Can't believe this, but I agree with a mejican! Oh well, I guess I'm not as smart as I thought...
  20. Jays have developed a good amount of talent under this F/O. However, some of it has been traded away to compete NOW and appease some of the fanbase. I'm in the group that is willing to wait for the farm to bear fruit or to trade part of the farm for young, cheap guys. I'm not big into going for "it" for a season or 2 at the expense of a sustainable contender with a flexible payroll. In fairness, so many are fed up of waiting for 20 years so it is what it is. It's certainly not an easy position to be in as a F/O as many who want the farm traded for an "Ace" will rip them later on.
  21. 6K through 4 now with 4-1 GO-FO.
