Drew Hutchison pitched today for Dunedin, don't know if anyone mentioned it and didn't know where to post this. There should be a thread for injuries/rehabs.

If he believes that then he's setting himself up to be bent over again, like I said before. At this point, you go with what you already overpaid for and hope for the best, it makes no sense to give up what little is left of your once highly touted farm system when you're 8-9 games out of a playoff spot, but hey, he's the GM.

I shouldn't have said honest at all, I don't think they'd tell him at all, like you say. Anyway, I doubt AA is involved in getting Garza.

I'd be shocked if AA gets Garza and probably dismayed at what he would have given up to get him. We'll see what happens. AA trades aren't usually rumored a few days before they happen. I hope he trades high on his bullpen pieces and gets a Rasmus type player in return.

And you think the Cubs would be honest in telling AA how much Garza wants? AA would be setting himself up for getting bent over again if he's involved in trade talks for Garza.

No, they already got one catcher from the Blue Jays...if you included Sanchez, now you're talking. Shaun Marcum would be going to the blue jays probably.

I couldn't help but notice LaCava's thoughts on Syndergaard...that trade is going to stick out like a sore thumb on AA's resume for a long time.

And it was done on July 30th so there was probably some desperation on the Rangers part in 2011. Let's hope AA finds a team in a similar situation...or 2!

It's interesting that Chris Davis was traded by the Rangers along with Tommy Hunter to the O's for Koji Uehara. This is exactly the sort of trade AA should be looking to make and he has more than one reliever to trade so let's hope he sees that even with a good bullpen, his team sucks.

Isn't Romero free to sign with any other team since he was taken off the 40-man roster? I thought I read something like that somewhere. Maybe he had to decide at that moment. Jays would still be on the hook for his contract.

The only good thing done by the coaching staff this year is the sinker that Pat Hentgen taught Esmil Rogers. I guess we could mention Rasmus turning things around, but we've seen this before. I know the rotation is comprised of veteran starters, I just wonder about having a rookie pitching and batting coach. I do like Gibbons, but I'm a little tired of his laughing it off with Blair and Hayhurst on baseball central as if it's all fine and dandy. Anyway, just a little rant.

38 year old who struggled for years. Garza has been a good pitcher for a bit and has 2+ months to go before FA. I don't think it's the same situation, but regardless, all indications are that Garza wants to test FA.

3-way would make sense as long as the Blue Jays are giving up relievers and are addressing 2b/3b or C in the deal. If they could get a young starter that's almost ready, then great. Garza is a FA to be, I don't see why he'd sign an extension now instead of possibly having teams bid for his services without having to give up young assets to get him.

Well, I don't think Stroman would be enough anyway....watch it'll probably be Stroman+Sanchez+Nolin, so f*** rotation depth next year.

I have no clue why no one has been fired or DFA'ed after this horrible first half just to at least let the players know their play is unacceptable, but who cares.
