  1. I said in hindsight they might've been better off trading Bautista after 2010/2011 because they didn't have much else to build around so trading their best player to build for the future might've been better. I also said I can see why they decided to instead try and build around him and when they lucked out on EE, they had another building block, the problem is that the team around them was still not good enough so it put them under the gun to speed up the process. Anyway.
  2. There's a chance the Cards trade Miller instead of Lynn, of course, it would take a nice package.
  3. I agree with this. And let's not forget that Bautista's emergence was a huge surprise and it took place in 2010, which was AA's 1st season as the GM. People also seem to forget that EE was released by the Blue Jays and by Billy Beane before being resigned by AA. I think, in hindsight, the team might've been better off selling high on Bautista after 2010 or 2011 and on EE in July 2012, but I can see why they would try and give it a shot with both of them instead of going for the full rebuild and pinning their hopes on A or AA prospects developing. I have no problem with firing AA, but I think firing AA and keeping Beeston is useless. I also think that ownership wants to sell hype and interest in the team above having efficient and sustainable success. Anyway...
  4. So it turns out my year long nightmare is real, f*** this year man.
  5. Farrell all the way. He da man.
  6. I thought they were actually holding their own until almost all of them went down injured. Farrell is well regarded as a pitching coach. I'm not saying I want him back, but he won, period. Hopefully Rogers is embarrassed and fires Beeston. Edit: Just to add a smartass comment, Blue Jays pitching was actually worse without him, despite a better pitching staff from top to bottom.
  7. Gotta give credit to the Red Sox. Hopefully the Red Sox and Farrell winning it all makes Rogers realize Beeston needs to go. A new president would surely fire AA. At least AA reportedly asked the Red Sox for the moon in return for Farrell while Beeston just bent over. Gotta give some credit to Farrell on the pitching side of things, several Red Sox pitchers turned things around with him back. Coincidence? Maybe, but maybe he knows his pitching.
  8. Why you mad bro? You should be happy for our boy Farrell.
  9. I hadn't really read what he said about Wong. My beef with him has been his bullpen usage. In game 3 Siegrist threw 8 pitches to get the side in order in the 7th and looked great. Ellsbury was leading off and I thought Siegrist should've at least faced him and if he got him out, maybe should've pitched to Victorino and if he got him out, to Pedroia as well. Instead, he brought in Martinez who was pitching for the 3rd time in 4 days, something he had never done, and the Red Sox tied the game. They're lucky they won that game. Tonight, I thought Wainright should've been pulled after the double by Ross and Siegrist should've faced Lester and Ellsbury, that's a huge run that Ellsbury drove in. Don't get me wrong, the Cards can't hit, but Matheny just hasn't impressed me.
  10. First extended look at teh Cards and Matheny hasn't impressed me at all. IMO he should've brought in Siegrist after Ross's double. It was obvious Wainright was tiring from the last few pitches to Drew where he walked him by throwing 3 straight breaking pitches way our of the strike zone after being ahead in the coung 1-2. Anyway, it's all over, there's no way this Cardinals team is coming back from this, they just cannot hit. Congrats to John Farrell and the Red Sox, they earned it.
  11. Let's do it! I'm finding out Matheny is a bit of a butcher as a manager so let's hope this happens.
  12. These Cards don't deserve s***, they're pretty bad fundamentally, SSS I know, but f*** do teams give games away to the Red Sox.
  13. He's another headcase like Rasmus, not a true Cardinal, send him north to Eskimo land baby for Janssen!
  14. I expect the Red Sox to pummel Lynn tonight, they have nothing to lose, they know the Tigers should've swept and the Cards have played like crap in 2 of the first 3 games.
  15. He made some good points, including the one about NOT walking Jay to load the bases. I remember I was typing a post here about it, but forgot the reasoning as to why Jay should've been walked to load the bases, lol, I had gone to bed believing the freakin' red sox had been gift-wrapped another game.
  16. If I were Matheny, I'd rip into my team after this game, including myself and Oquendo. They almost blew this game, it really shouldn't have been as close as it was. Molina should've been sent home in the 4th, Ellsbury had no shot to throw him out and Kozma and Kelly were up next. They should've added a run in the 7th, but blew it. Siegrist should've pitched to at least Ellsbury in the 8th.
  17. This is true. Go back to the foul hr that Pedroia hit where the cameras clearly showed that Farrell knew the ball went fould and he went to argue with the umpires to make them review the play just to disrupt Scherzer's rhythm so yeah, f*** Farrell.
  18. The thing is, obstruction is undeniable and I don't think intent is necessary for the call to be made. On the other hand, the Cards didn't deserve to win this game, they did all they could to blow it so I'm kind of torn.
  19. I think the Cards made this game closer than it should've been. Unbelievable how badly the Tigers and Cards have played against the Red Sox, they must be intimidated by the beards.
  20. What a finish, I want to see a replay of that play. Looks like the Cards almost blew it again.
  21. The way I see it the Cards are blowing this game. Molina should've been sent home in the 4th. They should've added a run in the 7th. And Siegrest should've pitched to at least Ellsbury in the 8th.
  22. Yeah, it's annoying. The Red Sox do have Victorino whom I've seen get hit on pitches that are over the plate although high so what's good for the goose...
  23. Is it just me or should Molina have been sent home in the 4th? That's a big outfield out there and I don't think Ellsbury had shot at him. I was really surprised they didn't send him and the Red Sox were probably saying 'thanks Oquendo'! I think it was a key play in the game. Hopefully the Cards don't continue giving up outs and runs.
  24. Who said AA doesn't care about D?
  25. They showed a stat either in game 1 or 2 that saying that the Red Sox were 6-0 with Gomes starting in LF...Farrell knows his stats.
