    I could see AA selling high on Pillar or Ee for a SP. Don't get me wrong, I like Pillar, just a thought.

    Absolutely. Remember though, Donaldson directed his anger at the ump. He clearly said he can take being hit it's the mishandling of the situation that pissed off the Jays.

    Breaking news: Ned Yost is a moron. It's pretty clear he condones the beanballs from his pitchers. It's all good, there'll find a bigger bully and it may cost one of their position players. Really glad to see Gibbons handle this the way he did.

    They have to sign a FA SP. I doubt Price re-signs, not that it would be a good idea to pay the premium it would take to get him to stay. Man, AA has given up tons of prospects over the year. Gotta give him lots of credit for building up the farm system because without it, team would be in trouble.

    I dislike his BP usage and have since last season and that's an area managers can have an impact on games. On the other hand, it could be a lot worse. Same could be say of AA.

    Lowe being used is not the problem. The problem is leaving him in there to give up 3 runs. Zobrist homers, warm someone up. Cain doubles, consider changing pitchers while the game is still tied. Anyway, I'm not big on buying high on players.

    I don't think it's that far-fetched. F/O put some effort during off season to improve D and just acquired Tulo in some part because of Reyes's defensive shortcomings yet Colabello has gotten way too much PT. Remember, AA went out on a limb to re-hire Gibbons, I don't think he can start squabbling with the man he retreaded out of double-A.

    I think what AA is doing wrong is that he doesn't understand that the F/O should set the roster, not the other way around. Jerry Dipoto would agree.

    Right. However, since the choice was between Valencia and Colabello, you choose Valencia because he kills lhp, can play 1b, 3b, and 2b in an emergency, and is less s***** than Colabello in LF. Plus, AA has historically chosen to keep the guy w/o options when choosing between 2 players.

    Is my memory deserting me or has AA not chosen to keep guys in the past who were out of options instead of taking the risk of losing them for nothing? I just think this is Gibby's baby. Not that AA should be applauded for obliging or anything...

    Then they could've waited to make the move, couldn't they? I mean, Valencia is actually better than Colabello in LF. And, don't worry, I can't ban you, nor would I , if I could.

    As of right now, Colabello is still the 4th OF so don't be so sure it won't happen any more.

    It's not a surprise to me that AA listens to Gibbons on the final roster spots. Not saying I agree with it, just that AA is not a guy that takes charge and he loves Gibbons. It's been obvious for quite some time that Gibbons really likes Colabello. For the record, god damn it, I hate it!

    You've got to think that ownership will give AA an extension. I mean, what owner would allow their GM to make the moves AA has made since last off season and then fire him at season's end? We'll have to wait and see.
