  1. He would. However, Lind + Happ are getting 14M combined while Estrada + Saunders + Smoak are getting around 8M. It may not seem like a ton, but clearly, every million helps given how close to the budget limit they got after the Marlins trade.
  2. I was thinking, that money AA saved in the off season has come in handy. I'm referring to Lind for Estrada and Happ for Saunders plus signing Smoak.
  3. And Travis was injured as well for the 11-gamer...trade him?
  4. I know they'd make a shitload of money.
  5. So yes, Travis will be out longer past the 15-day dl stint: http://m.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article/141933468/devon-travis-likely-to-stay-on-dl-longer
  6. Yeah. It would allow Gibbons to give Pillar a day off here and there. He has been struggling lately.
  7. Thanks. Have we seen a spike since the surge? I would think the average will go up with the team in contention over the next 50 games. Also, the increased post-game coverage might indicate the numbers being up and Rogers reacting to them. I don't know how much extra revenue this would generate, but I wonder extra revenue from the trades should be included in calculated the value of the trades. Or maybe it already is included.
  8. Also, anyone know how tv ratings be doing?
  9. Not to pile on Reyes, but Iglesias's effort level on that grounder was very similar to Reyes's on many grounders.
  10. So...when be Travis back?
  11. So where Donaldson's WAR at now?
  12. They have to sign a FA SP especially after trading 2 guys (Norris and Boyd) who would've been either in the rotation or depth. Arguably, Hoffman and Castro could've been depth as well if they started the year in NH although this is probably a stretch. Anyway...
  13. That guy is probably pimping at this very moment, lots of tourists getting laid right about now thanks to Angrioter.
  14. . The first of 3 tweets is really slangy.
  15. Which is another reason Ned Yost is full of s*** when he claims they're just pitching inside. Those balls were aimed high.
  16. Apparently, Yordano Ventura replied to Bautista's tweet: https://twitter.com/xtremesite/status/628032068535099393
  17. It's not that hard to imagine for me. If you go back and read about how the discussions began, you'll see that AA was the one who went to Alderson. I remember reading that he sat next to Alderson at the Winter Meetings and was looking to start up conversations. I think Alderson sensed that he was really motivated to make a deal and probably played hard to get to increase his already strong bargaining position. Basically, I think AA was convinced he was getting an Ace and made every prospect available. I'm sure the Mets chose who they wanted and just waited for AA to inevitably give in.
  18. Not crazy about the trades, but (even) I understand there was no Syndergaard given up. I was just commenting on how when AA targets a player, he goes all out to get him and arguably makes every prospect available. This was the way I viewed his approach to the Dickey trade in that he had decided to get him, then initiated discussions with Alderson and made Syndergaard and d'Arnaud available. Anyway, at least he can say he's drafted some pretty nice players.
  19. It's doubtful they'd have the same roster, but having him would be awesome. It would also likely mean they wouldn't have made the moves prior to trading him so you could argue they'd have guys like Desclafani as well. Also, they would arguably have gotten a very high pick in the 2014 (2) and 2015 drafts.
  20. Speaking of players struggling, Pillar has a 34 wRC+ since A-S break. Time to re-call Pompey. Also, my sources tell me that the White Sox, Rangers and Orioles have strong interest in Valencia.
  21. Amazin' this Syndergaard guy...painful. Freakin' AA has drafted some really nice pieces, but when he decides he's gonna get a player, he makes every prospect available. He just did that to get Price and is how he seems to operate.
  22. He's a Royal bro, that makes him almost as good. That's a winning franchise.
  23. He already struck out after being buzzed inside by Madman, now that's crazy son of a gun, watch out JD, these Royals are real men, lucky Ventura didn't park one in your ear.
  24. Royals have to be punished by the league, how many incidents have they gotten into now? And, it's now obvious their manager condones their behaviour by trying to cover it up. Unfortunately for Yost, some of his pitchers' actions and comments directly contradict his spin.
  25. Ok, or Pillar.
