  1. Did anyone do a re draft league this year and want to share their spreadsheet? I really dont want to rank 300 players by tomorrow night all over again
  2. Well I've always believed that a manager can't really have a positive effect on the team, but can ruin the team (i.e John Farrel's infatuation with sac bunting). I don't follow the twins, but the move just like you said reeks of "culture change", which is basically bs for distracting the fan base from the seasons they just had. I just don't agree with GM's canning their coaches after they have such a long stint with the team when the player personal was garbage.
  3. It's pretty sad that players going to hitter or pitcher friendly environments to gain value is still a viable tool in convincing GM's to overpay for them. Would have been interesting to see what Morneau received on the open market had he been a FA this off season
  4. That makes sense
  5. People are still going to criticize the trade, but the players we received back in those deals, even Dickey weren't the problem. It was the Ryan Goins' of the world being inserted into the lineup on a daily basis. Not saying I endorse the deal, back then or now but I have more of an issue with management not properly building depth on the team. Many people wanted guys like Gentry, McCarthy, etc on the team. Instead we got Steve Tolleson
  6. They've just committed to sucking for the past 5 years and stockpilled their farm. Now when they're actually close to fielding a decent MLB squad, the gm fires the coach for PR reasons. It's pretty bush league and happens throughout sports every year. He obviously did a good job for them because he managed some really good playoff team but the GM somehow concluded he's forgotten how to manage a ball club.
  7. From what I read, they don't plan on sending him down the to D League for a single game. It's not their team so they can't really control how he's used down there or if he will even get minutes. DIfferent sets/schemes could also just complicate things for someone very new to the game
  8. We should also bring back Mark DeRosa
  9. Also who throws a fastball right down the middle of the plate on the first pitch, in the bottom of the 9th with a tie game. Clearly someone was taking a page out of Adam Wainwright's playbook
  10. Pretty much this. He isn't on the same level Ken Griffy Junior, Albert Pujols, Chipper Jones was. Heck Jeff Bagwell was a better player than Jeter was, but he didn't make flashy jump throws for a championship dynasty franchise
  11. I'd have Pompey start the year in AAA and just go with a Pillar/Gose tandem or trade Gose and start Pompey. Having Gose come off the bench is a waste IMO. He's not a very good major league player but he's making 500K and should have lots of value to a team who needs a CF.
  12. I like them, I get more than enough detailed info from this board. Having someone like Scully would be great no doubt but I like Pat and Buck's laid back approach to the game.
  13. Can we do the waiver and draft pick draft now that the season is pretty much over
  14. And people want to trade Buehrle. He's the most reliable number 3 starter in the league who pitches 200 innings a year, who cares how much he makes. The money will not be spent better elsewhere
  15. Anyone left could have just been drafted
  16. Cooper's C-Men. I don't really have anyone besides Dal Colle but I'd package him with one of my forwards if it got me a good upgrade.
  17. What would a top nhl prospect in this league return in a trade?
  18. That's literally what I was used the entire draft, then checked their yahoo player pages to see how old they were
  19. C- Joe Pavelski C- Tyler Ennis LW-James Van Riemsdyk LW-David Perron RW- Corey Perry RW- Kyle Okposso F-Mikkel Boedker F- Radim Vrbrata F-Martin Hanzal D- Cody Franson D- Radko Gudas D- Michael Stone D- Brendon Dillon D- Kimmo Timonen ( apparently gone for a while) G-Braden Holtby G-Jhonas Enroth G- Phillip Grubauer G- Chad Johnson No idea who 80 percent of the players on my team are, but I like them, maybe
  20. I have a giant projection sheet and a list of about 350 players that should be drafted, but thats about it. When it doubt, Im just gonna draft BlackHawks and Red Wings
  21. Colton orr is the 370th rated player, so some auto draft team will take him
  22. Wilko will not show up, guaranteed
  23. "Division 4" Just noticed that now.
  24. Is it bad that I didnt know who Jordan Eberle was before my draft prep?
  25. lol Who wanted him gone. I stopped reading the main thread quite a bit
