You might be right, but I think he'll be willing to accept a 1-year deal sooner than you think. At this rate, he's going to lose an entire season to sitting out and that would not bode well for any future long-term deal. Playing baseball is the best thing that he could do for his future.
The Jays are almost .500 right now and the Red Sox and Yankees are off to miserable starts to their seasons. Vlad's debut is right around the corner, Biggio should be up soon, and Bo may debut in a couple months. Adding Keuchel makes sense for this team, as they've been hit with a plethora of injuries to the rotation. The hedge is that they can flip Keuchel for a couple of decent futures to supplement the rebuild if they're out of the race at the deadline. In that case, you could view this scenario as buying prospects.
It makes all the sense.
I would be beyond happy if the Jays signed him at those terms. It would make watching the Jays that much more enjoyable every fifth day and, at the very least, gives them a very sexy trade chip at the deadline if they're out of the race at that time.
That's a productive day off. Well done.
I did the PRs, so, uhhh, yep. Gonna hit up my home gym this afternoon, though. Would've been more motivating with a ball game on, but just music will have to suffice.
What's gotten into Dom Nunez? Holy hell.

+ 3 bombs, a walk, and no strikeouts today.
Jose Leclerc is on the verge of imploding against Houston in the 9th.
Four walks in the inning. Bases loaded, two outs. It's 11-10 for Texas. Leclerc is now being removed.
Edit: Shawn Kelley struck out Robinson Chirinos to close it out. What a finish!
