The play was reckless and dangerous, and it's all the more baffling that Wilson, a repeat offender, got a mere slap on the wrist when he targeted two of the three best players (Zibanejad) on the Rangers. Panarin is one of the best players on the planet and it looks as though Buchnevich has finally broken through to become the star player he was pegged to be.
There's no place in today's game for this type of buffoonery and no player should have to worry about a Tom Wilson trying his best to injure them, but the league needs to protect its most talented players at the very least.
