Likewise, I had that series pegged beforehand as one to watch. As you said, it's turned out to be one to avoid at all costs instead.
Almost every other series has had some glaring flaw, too.
Colorado vs. St. Louis: The Avs absolutely dummied the Blues. It was like watching the bully steal some poor nerdy ginger kid's lunch money.
Boston vs. Washington: Lots of shots, but the product was very sloppy. Did not enjoy.
Edmonton vs. Winnipeg: Had no redeeming qualities. And it was a sweep.
Pittsburgh vs. New York: Jekyll and Hyde series. 3 of 5 games have been bad.
Carolina vs. Nashville: The 'Canes have destroyed the Preds in every way, but Saros has singlehandedly kept Nashville in it. Their offense will go entire periods at times without a dangerous scoring chance.
Vegas vs. Minnesota: Vegas has dominated this series. Like Nashville, Minnesota is only alive because of goaltending.
Virtually half the series have been lopsided as hell and the other ones have just been bad. Florida and Tampa are the exception, but even they haven't been immune to bad hockey at times.
At least having the fans (mostly) back has helped inject some sorely needed life into it all, I guess.
