I do believe that some more development time would probably be preferable, but he did just have a pretty successful and lengthy ST with the Pirates, for what it's worth - and for a prospect, it's probably worth a lot more than a veteran.
I'd tend do think that this is just an unlucky stretch more than I think he's being over-matched. I'm sure that given a greater sample size, we'd see his stats normalize.
He's obviously not kicking the door down at the moment, but if the Pirates think he's ready, I don't think they'd let two weeks of poor results affect their decision.
