  1. New trade: To Abomination: Mike Smith Cam Atkinson Joel Armia Anthony Stolarz To me: Alex Burrows Chad Johnson Kasperi Kapanen Chase De Leo
  2. I didn't even realize until now that my team has the longest winning streak this season at 8. I wish most of them weren't the 7-5 types.
  3. Mike Smith is available! ...
  4. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins happens to have a hat trick today, losing me the G category.
  5. Of course RNH has a hat trick today.
  6. Teams ranked by the differential between expected and actual total Z-score in terms of draft picks (if this were a single-season league): 1. Dwight Kings - 22.01 2. Little Wingels - 16.67 3. Hanson Bros. - 14.85 4. The Be Sharps - 13.22 5. Welsh Corsi - 11.81 6. Goldbull - 9.73 7. Spittin Teeth - 7.89 8. Wilko's Team - 6.24 9. We Stand On Guard - 2.27 10. Beer League Champs - 1.91 11. The True Red Wings - 1.64 12. Top Cheese - (-1.71) 13. Cooper's C-men - (-1.83) 14. The Cat's Asses - (-7.66) 15. Stall Tactics - (-10.42) 16. BOBROVSKY - (-14.52) 17. SHARKS TERRITORY - (-14.87) 18. Abomination - (-15.39) 19. The Scrote Squad - (-19.59) 20. Thunder Kiss - (-26.73) Of course, the differential for this season doesn't mean that it will sustain itself in the long-run. Lots of trades, draft picks, etc. to come.
  7. Except it wasn't him who actually drafted. It was his computer which, while he probably did pick the order prior (and forgot to remove Ekblad and Drouin), it was still the computer that picked for him.
  8. Looking over some of the team's total dZ, I'm surprised to see Wilko's computer-generated team (now NJH's team) having a positive dZ. He did better than BTS's team, which is shocking. Of course, Wilko's team was terrible for the long-run, so there's that.
  9. That's the forward I forgot!
  10. The top 10 picks from the draft, based on the difference between the expected and observed total Z-score calculated by Yahoo (new feature), if this were a single-season league: 1. Nick Foligno (235) 2. Tyler Johnson (168) 3. Nikita Kucherov (232) 4. Alex Ovechkin (8) 5. Rick Nash (70) 6. Joe Pavelski (27) 7. Vladimir Tarasenko (80) 8. Filip Forsberg (222) 9. Andrew Ladd (117) 10. Ryan Callahan (194) Some of the best players not drafted: Brock Nelson, Alex Tanguay, Travis Hamonic, Trevor Daley Worst 10 picks (if you could call them that, since some of them are prospects who barely played): 1. Valeri Nichushkin (84) 2. Taylor Hall (11) 3. Cody Hodgson (129) 4. Mike Smith (97) 5. Teuvo Teravainen (102) 6. Nail Yakupov (62) 7. Ryan Murray (223) 8. Sergei Bobrovsky (38) 9. Dany Heatley (265) 10. Slava Voynov (201) (Technically, Voynov should be #1 since he's likely never playing again) Also, it excludes the two dumn Ekblad and Drouin picks made by Wilko's computer since they were illegal
  11. Top 5 goalies by Z: 1. Carey Price 2. Braden Holtby 3. MAF (DEM SHUTOUTS!!1) 4. Devan Dubnyk 5. Pekka Rinne
  12. Carey Price Edit: Also, I found that age was not a significant factor in where a goalie was picked.
  13. Looking over the draft for goaltenders this year, it's interesting to see who got good value in the short-run: http://oi60.tinypic.com/2r76e6s.jpg Of course, this isn't age-adjusted (important for a keeper league), but interesting nonetheless.
  14. Him, too. Though, for him and Pickard, it's difficult to predict goaltenders
  15. Then you picked Tyler Biggs...
  16. Interesting looking back at the prospect draft to see who is doing well so far. Round 1: Hard to tell, but the Ehlers pick looks better and better. Same goes for the Duclair pick. Round 2: Connor Brown is looking good so far. Same goes for Burakovsky. Again, hard to tell here. Round 3: Dave Pastrnak looks like a potential steal this far down. Same for Dylan Larkin. Round 4: Kevin Hayes also looks like a potential steal this far down. Round 5: Hard to tell who is good so far. Round 6: Brendan Leipsic looks like a good pick so far. Round 7: Charles Hudon is looking really good this late. Round 8: Damon Severson looks decent this late. Possibly the same for Calvin Pickard. Round 9: My Buchnevich pick as well as the Shane Prince pick looking good so far. Round 10: Jiri Sekac could look very good this late.

Also, since JFAS was weighting secondary assists recently, these are the ratios of the weights of 1st assists/2nd assists relative to the weight of goals: Forwards: Goals: 1.00 (ref) Primary assists: 0.97 Secondary assists: 0.75 Dmen: Goals: 1.00 (ref) Primary assists: 5.93 Secondary assists: 1.91

Interesting new metric that weights shots by score and whether the player was involved in the goal or not.
