    It's a lot more defensible. Dyson is just such a difference maker in the OF, especially in a park like Kauffman.

    Look, I made this thread because it's fun to poke fun at Ned Yost. If you don't want to join in on poking fun at Ned Yost, nobody's forcing you. I'm not getting into a debate about whether or not your best hitter should hit 8th while your worst hitter leads off, and I'm absolutely not going to get in to a semantic debate about whether or not that mistake is egregious.

    It matters, it's just that the probability of it having an effect in a given game is very small. Giving more PAs to Alcides Escobar than to Alex Gordon in a game/series is objectively stupid. Egregious, if you will.

    They're a fun team to watch. I've always thought Dayton Moore was an idiot, but going cheap on mediocre flyball pitchers and stacking the OF with great defenders in Kauffman stadium was pretty brilliant. That and the lockdown pen really gives the team an identity.

    How frustrating is it that Yost is hitting Gordon 8th and Escobar lead off? That must grind your gears.

    Such a typical Royals win. Shitbag starter junks his way through six, the team plays tight defense and scratches a few runs across, and the bullpen shuts it down.

    Nah. There is a 100% certainty that this series will be littered with awful Ned Yost decisions.

    Over the last two years: Gordon = 122 wRC+ in 1065 PA (120 vs. RHP) Escobar = 80 wRC+ in 1282 PA (74 vs. RHP) Leading Escobar off is absurd, but he's probably not the only manager who would hit the fast contact guy first. Doing while batting Gordon 8th is not even believable. I can't even wrap my head around the fact that he's hit Alex Gordon 8th all through the playoffs.

    Thought about it, but Rios has at least been hitting a bit so I gave him a break. I'm sure there will be some highly questionable bunts later on tonight though.
