  2. I bet you don't even watch baseball.
  3. Given that you're tied 0-0 after 4 innings and Jose Fernandez is pitching, would you prefer he leave the 4th at 37 pitches or 90?
  4. It depends on context too. If it's a tie in the 6th inning with Edinson Volquez pitching, you'd prefer he stick around for the 7th. If you're facing Jose Fernandez and have him at 90 pitches after 4 innings, and are in to middle relief by the 5th, you're probably having a good day.
  5. I quoted the wrong guy. You're right.

  7. I don't think it's really surprising. At this point, your average GM is very smart and highly educated. Your average field manager is a former player whose best skills are soft people managing skills. They're not going to be drawn to statistics.
  8. A true Christmas miracle. It's amazing how hard it is to land a true offensive cornerstone. I ended up picking close to 20 in the DDL and took Felix, and four years later the biggest issue with my team is still the lack of a true top-10 impact bat. Attrition hits harder when your best players are 120 wRC+ guys, and without a true monster to make up for poor performances, a few rapid declines are catastrophic. Cliffs: I'm going to enjoy Trout.
  9. Dinger without question caused a debacle.
  10. This really only matters for picks 1 and maybe 2.
  11. The FORMER MANAGER OF THE TEAM believes Kevin Pillar should get more PA than any other player.
  12. Yes, it does indeed feel right.
  13. Frenchsoup is not getting gifted Gourriel.
  14. There you have it. Someone will have to do this. But for the love of god, wait for spittin to do it so we don't have a repeat of the Christmas debacle. And this should be done ASAP, because waivers will start as soon as people start dropping players.
  15. BTW, the MiLB draft will be the opposite of this (the draft slot draft): 1 Queen B 2 Chappy 3 Cyborg 4 Kingfiller 5 Connor 6 j4l19 7 Abomination 8 Burlingtonbandit 9 jays_fever 10 TCA 11 Spittin 12 Boxfart 13 GDissogreat 14 havok 15 Dinger 16 L54 17 Frenchsoup 18 Greenwood 19 SpeedyMin 20 Aceguy34
  16. On second thought, I think we should definitely re-randomize just to make sure.
  17. The waiver order is already randomized by yahoo.
  18. He sits 90-91, so there's not much room for error. He'll have to come back after not pitching for 17 months having not lost anything on his fastball for LA to give him a spot out of ST. I don't think we'll see him in April. Is Pineda the last guy to come back from labrum surgery? It took him over two years and he lost 2 mph on his fastball, and that was in his early-mid 20s. Edit: I guess Garcia is another. I'm not saying he'll never come back, just that the odds are that he shows up throwing mid 80s and spends a rough year working his way back into pre-surgery form. Even if he does come all the way back, it's probably going to be a painful 2016. Maybe not, but most likely.
  19. Our former manager.
  20. Ok, in that case I'm sure the fat 29-year old who has thrown 350 innings in 3 years and just had labrum surgery is about to become a reliable rotation fixture.
  21. Friend of mine just had surgery for a torn labrum. Three months later and he still doesn't have close to full range of motion, and his doctor recommended that he doesn't play softball this summer.
  22. He had a torn labrum. That's very, very bad.
  23. Every time a clearly overweight player breaks down I wonder if they would have had the same issues if they were in shape. Ryu was probably carrying close to 50 extra pounds at his heaviest. I have no idea if that would be associated with shoulder troubles, but it can't be good.
  24. Shoulder surgery is terrifying, and they're already talking about maybe not having him for opening day.
