I really liked the Souza sequence. They turned Souza into Gomez, Banda, Solak, and two PTBNLs. Gomez is probably a bit worse than Souza, and Souza is controllable for a bit longer, but Banda projects like an average starter right now, and comes with 6 years of control, to say nothing of Solak and the other two.
Similar deal with the other sequence - they don't care about Dickerson's ability to play OF, because they wouldn't want him there anyway, so they flip a RH DH for a LF DH who complements their team a bit better. As with Gomez and Souza, the guy they get is a bit worse, but he's cheaper, and they pick up Hudson and Gray.
Nobody should want their FO to have to operate like this - it's terrible. But given the constraints put in place by TB's ownership, these are smart little moves that probably add value overall.
