  1. Even some of those guys are a bit more interesting than what typically fills up the end of the roster I think. Gaviglio does a pretty good job soaking up bulk innings from the pen, and I think would quickly find an MLB job if he were cut. I find Romano at least a bit interesting now that he throws 95+ in relief, and he still has options. OF is probably the easiest place to raise the floor right now. I wouldn't miss Alford, Davis, or McKinney at all if they were punted off the roster, but at least Davis and McKinney are optionable.
  2. I wonder who’s being removed from the 40 to make room. Pannone kind of sticks out. Alford and Valera too now that they’re out of options. They've done a great job building depth. I don’t remember the last time their was so little dead weight on the roster.
  3. Just need you and Carlos Danger on the job.
  4. Project for an enterprising owner: Find a way to acquire pOhtani from EZe. In return you get Syndergaard, the 21st pick in the MiLB draft, and an additional keeper slot at the cut down.
  5. It has been quite the saga
  6. It is now my sincere hope that Ohtani is no longer a viable pitcher.
  7. I've moved Ohtani to your roster and added Adam Jones to EZe's roster. In the 10-12 days that Ohtani pitches this year he'll be moved to EZe and Adam Jones will be moved to you. If the team that owns Jones drops him, it will be considered an Ohtani drop.
  8. I think Pendleton4Life19 were the big winners here.
  9. Gave him a reason to take a deep dive into the league trade history.
  10. Super duper job coming to an agreement on that trade gang. I knew you'd resolve it. J4L19 and Carlos Danger are the biggest trading phenoms this forum has seen since North's heyday.
  11. This was my main rationale. 2020 and 2021 picks exist, have been traded (though not many in the case of 2021 picks) and have to be used before the start of the 2021 season because of the way Fantrax works. I also think more owners would prefer the weak 2021 draft than to wait 18 months between drafts. I’m just really not bothered at all by the weak second draft. In the DDL thread TCA suggested expanding to 26-man rosters for 2021, and doing it via the NPD. I think that’s a good idea.
  12. Yeah, the January draft would be shallow. Mostly international signees, and late season pop up guys. I don’t see this as a problem.
  13. 7-1 in favour so far. This is going to pass easily.
  14. So the DDL is on the verge of turning the league into a true dynasty: no more pre-season cut-downs. I've been wanting the DDL and BORED to do this for years. The rationale for doing it: - The cut down was designed to promote parity at a time when most of us weren't familiar with these kinds of leagues. It turns out that the cut down isn't necessary for redistributing talent. The LoD, for example, is a 30-team league with no cut down and has no problem with talent being concentrated among a few teams. - Our current cutdown rules are cumbersome and annoying (32 keepers of which 18-22 can be MLB players). Given that the waiver draft isn't necessary to accomplish parity or expedite rebuilds, I think this adds a needless layer of complexity to the league. - The waiver draft is a disaster. Outside of 2-3 high profile international signees, the draft is mostly flat, with <10 keeper worthy players typically selected inn a given year. - It reduces the administrative burden of tracking waiver draft picks on a spreadsheet. I'm proposing that we just eliminate what IMO is little more than a needless hassle. The changes would mirror those likely to pass in the DDL: - No more MLB cutdown deadline and no more waiver draft. You'd keep your 25 man MLB roster + 12-man farm + DL players forever. - There is no offseason inactivity. You can continue to add/drop players from the waiver wire year-round. - We'd have a single New Player Draft Sometime between January and March every year. The changes would take effect before the 2021 season. Our 2020 MiLB picks would be used in July for out last mid-season draft. Our 2021 picks would be used in January/February 2021 and every subsequent draft would take place then. I'm going to open up a poll.
  15. Right, those need to be addressed.
  16. I've asked for clarification on what issues might pop up if the draft is left open, but this should probable weigh heavily on people's stance on the proposed rule change.
  17. I don't know if I'd touch those, based on the conversation going on the DDL.
  18. And by 'someone' I mean it was almost certainly me.
  19. Sorry folks, but you own pick 1-3, not 1-1. Somebody f***ed up the draft order in Fantrax.
  20. You going to update the constitution in Fantrax with your rules?
  21. I agree with everything you've drafted. The purpose of the 48-hour waiver period is to put teams on equal footing when it comes to adding players post-draft. Everyone is going to have red-flag players, and we don't want teams owners who happen to be around when the last pick is made to have first dibs on the remaining players. I don't think it should be abolished.
