  1. 2020 picks are gone Jim.
  2. I'm sure everything is fine and Jim did this deliberately because he's copied the pick order.
  3. Someone with commish access had to deliberately close the draft.
  4. I sincerely hope that whoever closed the draft made a note of the pick order, because about a million picks have been traded and I don't have time to deal with this.
  5. Who just f***ed up the draft?
  6. I’d do that again in the context of LoD.
  7. This is going to be a non-issue. I mean, he’s going to hear jokes about this for the rest of his life, but his career isn’t going to be impacted.
  8. Unfortunately he was caught jacking it alone in the middle of a busy parking lot like a f***ing creep.
  9. Yeah. Draft is less than a year away.
  10. I don't think options are going to play much of a role in deciding the last rotation spot. Barring injury, there are 4 spots accounted for: Ryu, Roark, Anderson, and Shoemaker. They contenders for the last spot right now are probably: Thornton (has options) Yamaguchi (options) Borucki (options) Kay (options) SRF (oprions) Zeuch (options) Merryweather (options) The only relevant arm with no options is Font. I'm expecting him to be in the bullpen, because his stuff has played up in shorter outings. I don't think the team will go to him as an opener right out of camp given the depth of arms that could reasonably give them 5 good innings every 5 days.
  11. It's not like he's doing both at the same time. It's purely subjective at this point, but I'd rather watch him play gold glove defense in RF for 150 games, put up a 30-30 season, and score 120 runs than DH for 400 PA and throw 70 innings.
  12. Goddammit
  13. Bellinger is a lot more exciting than Ohtani. Cutting his PAs by 50%, moving him to DH, and giving him 70 ace level innings as a pitcher wouldn’t make a more useful or exciting player.
  14. Yup. I think you can reasonably make the argument that pitching him has cost the team 4-5 wins already, and you can add more to that total this year. He’s probably an elite defensive corner OF with a cannon arm and 70 speed with a 130 wRC+ bat. Not really dissimilar from Mookie Betts maybe.
  15. He really should just be turned into a 5+ win OF
  16. He had the surgery 18 months ago on April 1st.
  17. They had been saying all offseason that he might be ready for the start of the season. It’s been well over a year since his surgery.
  18. Apparently Ohtani won't pitch until at least mid May.
  19. I don’t hate it
  20. Someone has a guilty conscience!
