  1. Yeah. Draft is less than a year away.
  2. I don't think options are going to play much of a role in deciding the last rotation spot. Barring injury, there are 4 spots accounted for: Ryu, Roark, Anderson, and Shoemaker. They contenders for the last spot right now are probably: Thornton (has options) Yamaguchi (options) Borucki (options) Kay (options) SRF (oprions) Zeuch (options) Merryweather (options) The only relevant arm with no options is Font. I'm expecting him to be in the bullpen, because his stuff has played up in shorter outings. I don't think the team will go to him as an opener right out of camp given the depth of arms that could reasonably give them 5 good innings every 5 days.
  3. It's not like he's doing both at the same time. It's purely subjective at this point, but I'd rather watch him play gold glove defense in RF for 150 games, put up a 30-30 season, and score 120 runs than DH for 400 PA and throw 70 innings.
  4. Goddammit
  5. Bellinger is a lot more exciting than Ohtani. Cutting his PAs by 50%, moving him to DH, and giving him 70 ace level innings as a pitcher wouldn’t make a more useful or exciting player.
  6. Yup. I think you can reasonably make the argument that pitching him has cost the team 4-5 wins already, and you can add more to that total this year. He’s probably an elite defensive corner OF with a cannon arm and 70 speed with a 130 wRC+ bat. Not really dissimilar from Mookie Betts maybe.
  7. He really should just be turned into a 5+ win OF
  8. He had the surgery 18 months ago on April 1st.
  9. They had been saying all offseason that he might be ready for the start of the season. It’s been well over a year since his surgery.
  10. Apparently Ohtani won't pitch until at least mid May.
  11. I don’t hate it
  12. Someone has a guilty conscience!

    Hockey is basically random.
  14. Kershaw Buehler May Urias Wood Nelson Gonsolin Yeah, Stripling isn't really a superfluous asset.
  15. I'd be surprised if Pederson is even really on the team's radar. He's a free agent after the season, and they've been unwilling to move prospects for short term help.
  16. Trade is done. Lol at people thinking Bloom was surprised at the negative reaction and wanted to back out.
  17. Shaw has never played short in the majors. Drury has like 50 innings there. Biggio hasn’t played an inning of short above AA. Not sure if he spent time there in the low minors. I’m sure they can all stand there and field the balls hit right at them, but they’re probably not going to be competent. I’m guessing Ruben Tejada ends up making the 25-man unless Espinal has a big spring. Like you, I’m hoping they sign Holt.
  18. Valera DFA’d to make room for Dolis. SS needs to be addressed now. Aside from Bichette the only SS on the 40-man is Espinal, who almost certainly sucks.
  19. Yates Pagan Pomeranz Munoz Stammen And a bunch of other interesting dudes. Might be the best bullpen in baseball.
  20. I’m so f***ing sick of the (former) London Slayers and approve of this tear down.
  21. Actually Pendleton4Life has been crushing it, and annoyingly looks poised to become a major force
  22. Stop it!
  23. Very good for the Pendleton4Life consortium
