    You can always stash Moncada in a NA spot through the season. The cost would be re-acquiring the 11th bat/7th starter you dropped pre-cut to keep the spot open. I think it's worth it.

    Why would the Leafs trade Kessel? The elite 27-year old locked up long term is part of the solution, not the problem.

    I'd really just prefer that he not be here at all. He isn't depth that you actually want playing.

    Using a roster spot on the short side of a DH platoon is wasteful. Especially when Danny Valencia can do the job and actually play a couple of positions.

    I think the money is immaterial - it's a one-year deal, and it's not like it's going to be put to use elsewhere at this point. The concern for me is that this team has a history of shooting itself in the foot by giving tons of playing time to bad players, and I'm scared that Viciedo is going to get a few hundred plate appearances with which to contribute nothing.

    He's not serviceable or competent. Or at least he hasn't been yet.

    Yeah, but you can apply that logic to any AAAA starter. Which I guess brings us back to the idea that hoarding as many as possible is probably not a bad idea.

    I think he has the lowest floor of the four, and I'd prefer the others to him if I'm looking at 2015 production. I think his ceiling is higher than the others though.

    I could see Karns becoming a very nice asset. Very hard to see any of the other three becoming more than a fringe keeper.
