I would say that's fairly different. Texas has much larger glaring OF holes than Toronto. Texas can practically guarantee Conforto full playing time. Unlike in Toronto, he may be relegated to the strong side of a platoon and/or DH. If Conforto is looking to bet on himself for a larger contract, it's probably in his best interest to sign with the Rangers.
The only way I see Toronto signing him is if they offer him a substantially larger contract than the Rangers. Something which I can't see them doing.
